Our Story

Owners Gordy and Kathy Jarvis purchased the Afton House Inn in 1976 at the age of 24 and 21. As they built their business, they added a 64 foot converted house boat in 1988 and started Afton Hudson Cruise Lines, now known today at St. Croix River Cruises. As the business grew, so did the fleet of boats and their kids David and Dan Jarvis. Today, David & Dan are hands on owners and operators of 3 restaruants, Historic Afton House Inn, CURRENT Restaurant and Bar and Swirl Wine Bar. 3 dinner boats, Sweet Afton, Afton Princess and Grand Duchess. The Inn includes a 25 room hotel. They truly have a passion for serving others and making guests feel welcomed and appreciated. As a family owned business, they understand what hard work and dedication is to make the business a success as well as to make customers keep coming back. From our staff and management, we welcome the opportunity to host your next dining experience aboard our St. Croix River Cruises fleet!
