State Fire Marshal Kevin Reardon has issued an order lifting a Ban on Open Burning that was first issued on Sept. 6. Rain earlier this month and cooler temperatures have significantly reduced wildfire fuel loads. Much of the state has seen grass return to green and heavier wildland fuels like larger sticks and logs have had the opportunity to soak up moisture, substantially lessening the risk of uncontrolled wildfires.

Reminder: ODNR's normal annual burn ban is still in place through November and prohibits most open burning between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. in unincorporated areas in Ohio.

We had a last minute cancellation at our Onyx cabin! This 2 person cabin has a covered hot tub and is located within 30 minutes of the popular Hocking Hills attractions.

Looking for a couples getaway, check out our Onyx cabin! This tiny house features modern finishes and large windows throughout to enjoy the views. Just outside the large sliding glass door is an outdoor seating area with a fire pit, just a few steps from there is a covered hot tub with string lights...

The Ohio State Fire Marshal has issued a burn ban in the following counties - Athens, Belmont, Carroll, Fairfield, Fayette, Gallia, Guernsey, Harrison, Highland, Hocking, Jackson, Jefferson, Meigs, Monroe, Morgan, Muskingum, Perry, Pickaway, Pike, Ross, Scioto, Tuscarawas, Vinton and Washington. Examples of outdoor activities prohibited by this order in the ban area include the following:

- lighting or maintaining a fire of any type at any location
- smoking (including ci******es or similar devices, and as part of a cooking process)
- non-electric cooking (regardless of fuel source)
- using or discharging any type of fireworks
- throwing down/discarding lighted or smoldering material (including matches or ci******es)
- campfires
- bonfires
- live fire training events
- flame effect(s) based displays or exhibitions (including sky lanterns and cold spark machines)
- using spark causing devices for recreational purposes
