Its Lances Birthday! One of our longest standing traditions in our family is silly birthday cakes. Every year the theme is a surprise and usually is inspired by a favorite show or inside joke from the year before. Maybe you will get some of them. when we were in france we bought a bûche de noël in the savoyard region in France. We fell in love with the idea and made one from scratch this year. It's decorated with candied cranberries and rosemary and mushrooms made from meringue. We had a lot of fun making it and even more fun eating it!

We were taking a walk on the beach and he saw this wedged between some very large boulders. We were able to get one moved and noticed it looks an awful lot like an axe blade. There is an archeology expert near here. We sent him a message and some pictures and hope to hear back. what do you think it is? #vikings #ireland #axe #archeology #identifythis #whatisthis

Not every day of travel is jam packed with activities and running around non stop. We just arrived in a lovely cottage on the English countryside. I started a fire in the stove and listened to the rain as I sipped a fresh cup of coffee. This evening we'll prepare a traditional English roast for dinner and relax. We aren't luxury travelers but we're also not hostel travelers. We're family travelers so we do what we can to see as much as we can for as long as we can. Food gets very expensive very quickly if you're constantly eating out so we sometimes get creative. 👪✈️🍜 #travel #familytravel #england #theuk #ramen
