Day 1 | Arrive Beijing
Upon arrival in Beijing, China's capital, you will be greeted and escorted to your hotel. The balance of the day is free to relax or begin exploring on your own.
Day 2 | Beijing (B, L, SD)
The full day tour of China’s fascinating capital begins with the Tiananmen Square and the Imperial Palace in the Forbidden City, home of Chinese emperors for more than 500 years. After lunch, visit the Summer Palace. Take a leisurely stroll admiring the thousands of ancient murals along the Long Corridor and later a boat ride on Kunming Lake (weather permitting). If time permits, you’ll visit a Pearl exhibition.
This evening, enjoy a fabulous welcome banquet featuring the famous Peking duck at Qiamen 1416 Duck Restaurant.
Day 3 | Beijing (B, L)
The highlight today is an excursion to the Great Wall at Mutianyu. Enjoy the dramatic vistas and marvel at the Wall as it climbs and descends steep ridges and narrow valleys. A scenic cable car ride enhances your visit through the steep hills. Lunch stop will be at a local Jade workshop. In the afternoon, visit the Temple of Heaven where the emperors came to pray for good harvest twice a year.
Day 4 | Beijing Xi'an (B)
This morning take high speed train to Xi’an.
Upon arrival, check into your hotel.
Day 5 | Xi'an (B, L, DS)
Today's highlight is a visit to the Archaeological Museum, home to an army of more than 6,000 life-size Terra-Cotta Warriors and Horses excavated from the tomb of the 1st emperor of the Qin Dynasty. On the way to the culture site, you’ll have a short stop at the Qin Terra-Cotta Figures Factory to learn about the history background of the tomb. A Circle Vision documentary is also available on site at the Archaeological Museum.
In the evening enjoy a special dumpling dinner and cultural show recreating the music, costumes and dance of the Tang Dynasty.
Day 6 | Xi'an Shanghai (B, L)
Today’s sightseeing features the Ancient City Wall, built during 1374-1378 AD. Then visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, the symbol of Xi’an. After the tour, transfer to railway station for overnight train to Shanghai.
Day 7 | Shanghai (B, L)
Arrive in Shanghai in early morning, greeted by local guide and start your morning with a visit to the Shanghai Museum, China's most up-to-date museum showcasing the country's ancient glory. Then transfer to hotel for check-in around noon time. In the afternoon, visit Yu Garden, famous for its rock gardens, pavilions, halls and ponds, and Old Shanghai Bazaar, with shops filled with all manner of interesting curios. Continue your visit stopping in the Old Town and modern Xintiandi. Visit the local Silk Spinning Mill, where you will learn about Chinese silk product.
Day 8 | Shanghai (B)
Spend today at leisure and explore this vibrant city on your own.
Day 9 | ShanghaiHome (B)
Farewell to Shanghai. Transfer to the airport for your onward flight back to the USA.

NEW HOTEL SCAM!! For your info

This is one of the smartest scams I have heard about.
You arrive at your hotel and check in at the front desk. Typically when checking in, you give the front desk your credit card (for any charges to your room) and they don't retain the card.

You go to your room and settle in. All is good.
The hotel receives a call and the caller asks for (as an example) room 620 - which happens to be your room.

The phone rings in your room. You answer and the person on the other end says the following:
'This is the front desk. When checking in, we came across a problem with your charge card information.
Please re-read me your credit card numbers and verify the last 3 digits numbers at the reverse side of your charge card.'

Not thinking anything wrong, since the call seems to come from the front
desk you oblige. But actually, it is a scam by someone calling from outside the hotel. They have asked for a random room number, then ask you for your credit card and address information.

They sound so professional, that you think you are talking to the front desk.

If you ever encounter this scenario on your travels, tell the caller that you will be down to the front desk to clear up any problems.

Then, go to the front desk or call directly and ask if there was a problem. If there was none, inform the manager of the hotel that someone tried to scam you of your credit card information, acting like a front desk employee.

This was sent by someone who has been duped........
and is still cleaning up the mess.
