Many of my clients were concerned about the sit down dining and their children under 3 with trying to budget their expenses in to their Disney trip. Here’s a great tip, not only are children that young free to enter the park, they also get a selection of food FREE at sitdown dining locations.

They actually get a well rounded meal with fruits, vegetables, breads and honestly whatever else they want from the children’s menu if you’re polite enough to the cast members! As you can see our son loves his French baguettes!

Monday! It’s easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of visiting theme parks, which is completely understandable! With all the sights, sounds and things to do, sometimes you can get tunnel vision.

Each Friday I select a question directly from you, one of my followers! Today’s question is a fun one, “I see you go to multiple parties a year, between Halloween and Christmas which is more worth my money?”

This comes first to which is your favorite Holiday?! This can be a simple answer to decide upon, however, when it comes to options there are major differences! We’ll start with Halloween options:

Mickeys Not So Scary:
• Trick or Treating (were always leave with 5-10lbs of candy!
• Special parade
• Special stage shows
• Special Fireworks
• Special character meet and greets
• Special foods for purchase
• Exclusive Merchandise
• A few special ride overlays

When it comes to Christmas there are two options, which I do recommend doing both if you go with this Holiday:

Mickeys Very Merry:

• Free cookie and drink stations
• Exclusive Ornament
• Special parade
• Special stage shows
• Special Fireworks
• Special character meet and greets
• Special foods for purchase
• Exclusive Merchandise
• Fun games at Storybook Circus
• Many ride overlays

Jollywood Nights:

• Special stage shows (including an ice skating show!)
• Special Fireworks
• Special character meet and greets
• Special foods for purchase
• Exclusive Merchandise

At the end of the day I’m biased and will say do it all! However, realistically I feel you get more for your money with Mickeys Very Merry and you can tack on Jollywood as another fun evening during your visit!

You can’t go wrong with any of these parties though! If you want to see more of the Christmas events this year be sure to follow me as I’ll be attending them in a few weeks!

When it comes to finding ways to save money on a Disney Vacation it may feel like you’re trying to pull a sword from a stone. However, there are many easy ways to cut back on costs and make your trip very affordable! Outside using a Travel Agent like myself to constantly search for the best deals to apply, there’s easy methods you can take on as well!

One of the most common recommendations I give is to purchase Disney Gift Cards from Target or Sam’s! They are constant running deals that can get you 5% off your gift card, sometimes more when special deals run! Disney Gift cards can be used for almost anything from your hotel room, ticket’s, food and merchandise! Even though we’re DVC and Annual Passholders, I still use gift cards to purchase anything and everything we do at Disney! It’s free money and helps you budget what you spend!

Once again here I am to answer one of your questions that are chosen randomly each week! This weeks question “how do I know which character dining is best?!” There’s a couple answers for this one.

Character dining does run a bit more than your normal dining experience so one of the main things you’ll want to think about is which characters do you want to meet most? Each restaurant is very unique with their layout. For example at one of our favorites, Crystal Palace, you get to meet Pooh and friends (breakfast being our favorite!). Or at Akershus you meet princesses such as Belle, Rapunzel and more! I’ve eaten at every character dining available and can always help walk you through the options!

Second, what type of meal do you want, whether it be buffet, multiple course meal or specialized event! On top of this multiple options, and prices, are offered for breakfast, lunch or dinner! Each location has their strengths and weaknesses with food depending on the meal that I can easily walk you through!

When it comes to traveling to Disney or Universal it’s easy to get caught up in “we have to do everything in this single trip”. I would push against this mindset! It leads to burnout, frustration, stress. At the end of the day we want our children to remember the experiences, the characters and rides!

Just because you aren’t visiting a Park doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy fun at Disney, even FREE fun. The Disney Hotels all offer both free and some paid activities that can help you and your children enjoy a day outside of the parks.

My family really enjoys the activities at the Polynesian with making Leis or learning how to Hula dance or we over to the Animal Kingdom Lodge to build necklaces out of pieces we earn through learning about the different animals on the hotel property!

• All you can eat soft serve ice cream! Our kids made sure to fully utilize this!
• Multiple waterslides, including a specialized one that differs from ship to ship! The Aquaduck/Mouse takes you around the full exterior of the ship with fun and amazing views!
