Great local update!

With all the excitement of the possible snow coming in this weekend just wanted to let yas know what we are currently dealing with. Current snowfall accumulation is too low for the trails to be open. Due to ongoing bridge maintenance, the MDOT does not expect the Portage Lake Lift Bridge to be open until December 18th or 20th at the earliest! The temp at 7:30 this morning 30 degrees - it rained which took a lot of the snow away. The trails have very little snow on them, you can see dirt on them. If we get the snow they are saying is possible to fall this weekend - warm temps are to follow during the week. Let snow accumulate more on the trails so when it’s time the groomers can build a good base making it much more fun for all to have! 🇺🇸☃️❄️ www.kruppsresortmi.com

Wyandotte Falls

'This little gem of a waterfall feels remote but is right off the “highway,” i.e. M-26 in Twin Lakes. To get there, turn onto Poyhonen Road across the street from Krupp’s Resort & Mini Mart and head towards Omer's Golf Course Bar, Restaurant, and Rental Cabins . Watch out for snowmobile traffic near here: the Bill Nicholls Trail is a snowmobile superhighway! Park near where the plow line ends by the resort and keep hiking up the road a short distance. On your left a trail heads off into the woods and will quickly lead you to the Misery River. Turns out there’s nothing miserable about it up here, as the mature cedars and hemlocks make for a very picturesque experience. The falls drop over several tight rock ledges through this area, with one final push stretching over a dozen feet high. It’ll be hard to tell under all of the snow though, so be sure to check where you’re standing to make sure you haven’t accidentally strayed onto the river.'
