I read some great news! After 10 years, Royal Caribbean is going to begin sailing from Los Angeles once more! Beginning in June 2022 the reimagined Navigator of the Seas will sail from LA to Catalina Island, Ensenada and Cabo San Lucas. RCI will offer 3,4 and 5 night sailings with special 7 night voyages with overnights during the winter holiday. RCI spent $115 million on refurbishing Navigator of the Seas and I, for one, think a cruise to Catalina is an excellent idea!
In other cruise news, Virgin Voyages announced that all their cruises will require all passengers and crew to be vaccinated. This is the first mainstream cruise line to mandate inoculation for US passengers; although other countries have made this requirement for sailing. Virgin Voyages only allows adults, so its not relevant for the kiddos.
Royal Caribbean will require for anyone over the age of 16 to be vaccinated on sailing from Israel, beginning in May.
Crystal Cruises will also mandate vaccinations for every passenger and crew member; however, they will not be sailing from the U.S. Opting instead to begin from the Bahamas.
It seems that cruises keep getting postponed but eventually, cruise vacation will start up, it's important to know what to expect. Whether is vaccines, Covid tests, cleaning and sanitizing protocols or limiting capacity, Most cruise lines will post updates keep checking back here for any updates, or leave questions below and I will try to answer
