I really hope we get to travel freely again soon... until then, we can dream, imagine and share our wonderful memories of past travels

Ended our trip with a beautiful evening on the water, in great company. Henry literally cried when i told him next day we had to go home.

Lovely lunch with Rebekah. Great food, beautiful place, and a great chat, sharing stories from our trip. Never enough time... And, finally we dropped off the car... and off to the airport, last minute... run run run... we made it on time.

Last day in Seattle... we got to see everyone again and spend a little time together... It was hard to peal Henry from each place... and we got delayed to the point we were worried we'd miss our flight :)

This is how we traveled... in a Dodge Caravan (I owned two of these few years back and loved them both!), converted into a sleeper van. :) Simple, fun and flexible... we literally had no plans and went with the flow the entire week. Our sleeping arrangements we different every night, and that's perfectly fine. We were safe, comfortable, warm... We had everything we needed, the van came equipped with all we needed...

Monday was a "water day". A Seattle vacation wouldn't be complete without spending time near/on water... And while we didn't get to see the Orcas... we did get wonderful views of the city and plenty of time visiting two naval museums (Henry's special request)

Hoh Rainforest, Olympic Peninsula, WA

A magical place when rainy, I'm sure... but this was a very dry season, with so many tourists stirring up the dust on the main trails...

Our little bare foot excursion on a side trail outside the main tourist area was a lot wetter and greener.

We really lucked out on this one... arrived at 8:56 at the park, off we go on the wildlife safari at 9am! What a great experience and a perfect adaptation to pandemic circumstances! Normally they took the people around in a tram, where you sit on benches next to each other. Instead, we drove our car in a slow moving caravan, and tuned in our radio to a particular channel, where the guide talked to us sharing information about the various animals we encountered along the way and the history of the place. A herd of elks, a family of mountain goats, a lonely bison, caribous, black tail deers, long horn sheep and more... it was such a treat!

But the best part was AFTER the safari... when Henry got to play for over an hour in the really cool playground at the park. I could barely peal him off to go see the bears exhibit... and we had to skip the cats and birds... so we don't miss the meeting with our friends on the Olympic Peninsula...

Base camp tent used on Everest. Very cool. Can sustain winds up to 80mph! :O

Very interested place,, with lots of outdoorsy people and kids around that free climbing structure. After figuring out the best route up (and especially down), Henry became the designated coach for the beginners. He got two little ones up there. Saw some proud kids and grateful parents :)
