I have worked with a variety of individuals and organizations that have all contributed to my knowledge and experience with dogs. Along with all of their great input have been the hundreds of dogs and their handlers who over the years have taught me so much. I view each dog as an individual with a unique path to a great outcome.
Hey Clawson, just in case you haven't already gotten a call from Parks and Recreation, I have to cancel class tonight to a very absent voice. I can barely be heard! I feel better than I sound but can't make myself heard in the big room!! Next week will be our last night!!

Hey folks! If you have noticed some dog food brands miss8ngvfrom shelves, there are some pretty serious concerns for safety.
I'm the past several years companies such as Mars ( candy) and Proctor and Gamble have been buying up many of the major brands. Foods that once had pretty good quality, are showing up as causing ( or contributing to) dog and cat illnesses and deaths. Even my once trusted site Dog Food Advisor has been sold and is no longer the scientifically trusted source, to me.
So there is a hugely impactful shift in the dog/ cat food industry. Who or what do I trust? For the past year I shifted to a raw or lightly cooked food that I make from human quality foods. This option isn't an easy choice. It requires research to do it well for the health of your pet. It is more time consuming and expensive. But for now, until more is known, I am trusting me!
Something to think about...check the possible side effects of pet medications as you would medications for people!

Stop the food immediately.
Report it to the FDA: https://www.fda.gov/animal-veterinary/report-problem/how-report-pet-food-complaint
Contact your veterinarian. Request a copy of your pet's medical records. Report your concerns to the pet food company and ask your vet to do the same.

*Update as of 1/4/24 - 213 dogs and cats (155 dogs, and 58 cats) sick eating Purina, 57 of which have died.
Since 12/5/23 in the 'Saving Pets One Pet @ A Time' group on Facebook there have been 48 dogs and 3 cats sick eating Purina, 10 of which have died. It seems to be from all different types of Purina, with Purina Pro Plan being the most common. If you or someone you know is feeding this food, I would stop immediately! Do NOT wait until your pet gets sick or Purina issues a recall.

Purina has already been notified by numerous pet owners and they have not done anything to alert unsuspecting pet parents. Initially, there were offering to reimburse the pet owners for their pet food. Currently, they are offering pet parents $10 in coupons (which is what Hills offered me for my dead dog) and having a third party contact the pet parents.
Eventually, we may see Purina pet food become “unavailable” on the store shelves. This is called a silent recall. The pet food manufacturer doesn’t want to admit there is a problem with the product, so they start pulling the products off the shelves quietly. (Hills did this for 60 days before the recall)."

Found an absolute GEM of a store hiding in plain sight at 5437 Dixie Hwy., south of Andersonville Rd. on the west side ( set back a bit).Daisy's Pet Shop!!! They offer grooming, custom leashes and collars, but the high value ( all meat) treats are without compare....literally! NOWHERE else will you find the variety of dehydrated meats for dogs ( and many cats!) And the prices are very good!!! Frozen items as well, like local goat's milk!
