So I’ve kinda failed at documenting my trip to New Mexico. But if you want to follow a genuinely EPIC trip, follow this guy. Shawn Carr. He is riding a bicycle from southeastern Massachusetts to Oregon. That’s right folks, all the way across AMERICA on a bicycle. His journey began on July 8, 2022

This morning I woke up in Cheyenne,WY. No photos of my own because we’re hurtling down the highway at 80mph. And we’re not speeding! The speed limits have increased as we’ve travelled west. Extremely interesting seeing the landscape change as we came across. Welcome to the Rockies!

Storm threat subsided and we moved along to Iowa 80. The place is a shoppers paradise. But more importantly, a place where truck driver’s can get ANYTHING they need. Food, clothes, electronics, fuel and so much more. With 900 truck parking spots, there’s room for all. To date, they’ve served 3.5 million cups of coffee and more than 19 million eggs. Superfun and Superclean. 👍👍

Severe storm warning. Davenport, Scott County Iowa. Quarter sized hail, high winds, lightning strikes! Currently holed up in a car wash bay. Super excited to find it has overhead doors that shut. Protect snappy chariot at all costs! Up next: full breakfast and coffee!

Tam drove while Nan slept. We arrived in Niagara Falls, NY at dawn. Not much to report. Searched and found coffee. Rolled into Niagara Falls State Park and toured the Americanside of the falls. Stunning. Awe inspiring. Can’t imagine what the Canadian side is like. Leg two of the journey begins now. Heading to somewhere in Illinois. Watch this space.

Character Cavalcades are pop-up mini parades. While we are still distancing and keeping safe, these are superfun and quick. No need to stake out a spot. They just roll on by and delight everyone!
