IMPORTANT UPDATE ON TRAVEL TO ITALY
Earlier today, the Italian Government announced new requirements for travelers from the United States and Canada. In order to avoid a 5-day quarantine, Americans/Canadians must have the following three items completed:
Fill out a Passenger Locator Form
Have a "Green Pass" showing proof of vaccination (A CDC Vaccination Card is counted as a Green Pass)
Negative swab test (molecular or antigen)
We suggest taking the swab test within 48 hours prior to arrival into Italy as there is contradiction on official Italian government websites. Some are saying 48 hours, and others are saying 72 hours. We anticipate that this will be clarified in the next few hours/days.
Today's news comes as the EU removed the United States from its Safe List. The EU list is not a mandate. As you can see from Italy's announcement, each EU government can create its own rules on entry and quarantine. Italy is remaining open to Americans, and they are continuing to give them the ability to avoid quarantine as long as the above requirements are met.
This regulation goes into effect from August 31, 2021 through October 25, 2021. As always, rules do change, but these are the new regulations announced today. We suggest you visit this link for further details, and we also suggest following the page of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
I will keep you updated on any new requirements.
