ANOTHER FIVE-STAR REVIEW!
“Driving around Detroit with Pat was like spending time with a very well informed and easy-going next-door neighbour. My friend and I truly enjoyed our midday excursion that included many downtown neighbourhoods as well as the famous building reonvations (Book Tower, Train Station etc.) We learned about the "movers and shakers" in the Detroit Community who are bringing back the city's vibrance.”

This is how Libby from southern Ontario described her recent visit to Detroit on Tripadvisor. More than 450 reviews from people who signed up with Show Me Detroit Tours are at bit.ly/2Ma1Zz1.

DETROIT AMONG THE NY TIMES 52 PLACES TO GO IN 2025
"For years, Detroit was associated with urban decline, but today it is showing remarkable signs of renewal. The biggest addition looms large above the Detroit River — the 1.5-mile Gordie Howe International Bridge will be North America’s longest cable-stayed bridge when it opens in the fall, connecting motorists, cyclists and pedestrians to Windsor, Ontario, and the Trans Canada Trail. Public art and signs near the U.S. and Canadian ports of entry on both sides of the bridge commemorate the Underground Railroad, reminding visitors of the thousands of African Americans who fled enslavement into Canada or found sanctuary in Detroit.

"Also planned for fall is the Ralph C. Wilson Jr. Centennial Park, a lush 22-acre haven along Detroit’s revitalized West Riverfront. And Michigan Central Station, the once-abandoned Beaux-Arts train depot built in 1913, re-emerged last year as a start-up tech hub thanks to a $950 million restoration project by Ford Motor Company — fitting for Detroit’s comeback tale."
— Lauren Matison

Have you seen The Spirit of Detroit lately?

The massive piece was designed by Marshall Fredericks, one of America’s leading 20th century figurative sculptors and is one of Downtown Detroit's most easily identifiable landmarks.

The iconic green giant was restored this fall by Detroit artist Robert Zahorsky. Zahorsky undertook a laborious process of carefully stripping layers of chemicals off the bronze statue and reapplying them, all by hand, over roughly seven weeks.

When you visit Detroit, book a private van tour with Show Me Detroit Tours and you can see The Spirit up close. Find more details and a link to our 450 top reviews at www.showmedetroit.com 313-444-2120

The city's iconic Marshall Fredericks sculpture recently got a refresh. Meet Robert Zahorsky, the Detroit artist behind the restoration.
