AVOID FEES FROM AIRLINE TICKET NAME CORRECTIONS

Airline ticket name corrections can be frustrating and costly. If you’ve ever had to change a “Katie” to a “Catie” or a “Brian” to a “Bryan,” you know what we’re talking about!

We deal with this frequently when it comes to airline ticket name corrections. In the last 15 years, it has become vital that the name on the reservation is an EXACT match to the name on the passport. If it is not, your client may experience a significant delay at the airport, be forced to pay hefty fees for the change or be denied boarding altogether. It is possible that your client is allowed to fly with a misspelled name. This is more likely to occur on a flight within the United States, but this can build a false sense of security. The best course of action is to ensure correct spelling when booking the flight.

Although a misspelled name can often be corrected, there are situations where it simply cannot be fixed.

The cost of an airline ticket name correction:
And don’t forget the costs involved. If we are required to make a new booking, it must be repriced and the new fare could be much higher. If the name correction is caught within the 24-hour void/reissue period, there is no change/cancel penalty and the likelihood of getting the same fare increases–possibly avoiding fees altogether! However, after the first 24 hours, prices may look much different.

Some good information about Passport applications that might be delayed, and what to do! Remember, with these delays happening, please check your passports soon if you plan to travel internationally any time before July. It can take a few months to get the new passport back. Safe and happy travels!!

Hello fellow travelers!! It is a good idea to start the planning process for future trips. Things are getting a little better out there! And many countries are getting ready, or already have in place, testing available for countries that require a negative test to return home.

If you have a team that really wants to go somewhere this summer/fall/winter, let me know and we'll see if we can get something reserved for you!

I do have a team heading to Costa Rica in about 5 weeks. 18 people. Costa Rica doesn't require a pre-test (as of now) to enter, AND has the system in place to do testing 72 hours prior to returning to the USA. (they do require travel insurance now, just an FYI)
