❤️⚾️⭐️ “The Senior Sensations!” Our seniors from the Division of Recreation 56th Street Senior Center performed their hit Zumba performance, “What A Feeling,” on the field at the Staten Island Riverhawks game tonight! Thank you to our fabulous Zumba instructor, Alyssa Apfelbaum Marmorato for her guidance and passion! Thank you to Ralph Savo for another great experience! ☀️

❤️☀️ 922 residents entered 16th Street Pool today! A great first day! We are committed to provide a safe and fun atmosphere for Bayonne! Thank you to our wonderful lifeguards, pool attendants, security and Manager for their hard work! We will be open tomorrow at 10:30am! Please note
Tomorrow the pool will close at 5:30pm and gates will close at 4:30pm. ☀️

Tomorrow! We are so excited to open, we are EXTENDING our hours to 7:30pm! (Friday, 6/21 only) We hope to see you there!

Friday, June 21st: 10:30am to 7:30pm
Saturday, June 22nd: 10:30am to 5:30pm
Sunday, June 23rd: 10:30am to 5:30pm

(Friday, June 21st) Important: Admission into the pool will close at 6:30pm. Those who already entered the pool must be out of the water at 7:00pm.

(Saturday, June 22nd & Sunday, June 23rd) Important: Admission into the pool will close at 4:30pm. Those who already entered the pool must be out of the water at 5:00pm.

Daily admission fees for this year.

BAYONNE RESIDENTS ONLY. Non-Bayonne residents prohibited.
Children 12 years old and under – $3.00

13-64 years old – $5.00
seniors, age 65 and above -$1.00

There is no time limit once entering the pool.

You must have a City of Bayonne ID to enter the facility for the regular admission fee.

Any Bayonne resident who does not possess a City of Bayonne ID will be charged $10.00 if he or she can provide proof of Bayonne residency.

The fee for a Bayonne Resident ID is $10.00.

Please bring two proofs of residency when applying for the City ID Card.

Any child who is a Bayonne resident can present a Bayonne school ID and will be charged a regular admission fee.

Anyone with a current driver’s license or non-driver motor vehicle ID card that shows a Bayonne address will be admitted for $10.

The pool will be shut down in the event of inclement weather.

💥 Fireworks, Concert, and Children’s Entertainment Set for Tuesday, July 2nd!

✨ Mayor Jimmy Davis announced that the City of Bayonne’s Independence Day Celebration will be held on Tuesday, July 2, at the lower level of DiDomenico-16th Street Park, beginning at 6:30 pm, weather permitting.

➡️ There will be a rain date of Monday, July 8, if needed.

☀️ On July 2, there will be plenty of attractions for both children and adults.

➡️ Free children's inflatable rides will be available from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The rides will be stationed in the old amphitheater, located at the southeastern corner of the park's lower level.

🎶 The Suspects band will perform at 7:00 p.m. The New Jersey-based group specializes in dance party music from the 1980’s. The Suspects will play at the municipal amphitheater, which is located at the southwestern corner of the lower level of the park, near Newark Bay.

💥The fireworks are scheduled to go off at approximately 9:15 p.m. The fireworks show will run for about 30 minutes.

‼️ Chairs will not be provided for the fireworks and the concert on July 2, due to the expected size of the crowd. Spectators are asked to bring their own chairs on July 2 and on future concert dates. A limited number of chairs will be provided at later concerts this summer.

✨ Food vendors will be in the parking lot.

➡️ A buffer zone will be created in the park and the bay for residents' safety. Only authorized people will be allowed inside the buffer zone. No pleasure craft in Newark Bay will be permitted within a perimeter of at least 500 feet from the launch site, as per the U.S. Coast Guard. The Fire Department will have a boat in the bay during the show.

➡️ The Bayonne Recreation Division is providing free shuttle bus service for the event and will pick up passengers at East 24th Street and Church Lane. This location is near two parking lots: Parking Lot 6 (behind Archie's Cab) and Parking Lot 7 (behind Valley Bank).

➡️ Shuttle bus service will begin at 6:00 p.m., and will drop off passengers at the lower-level parking lot alongside the tennis courts until 8:30 p.m. Following the fireworks, at approximately 10:00 p.m., the buses will pick up passengers at the same area for the return trip to East 24th Street and Church Lane.

➡️ Shuttles will continue until all passengers return to East 24th Street and Church Lane, by about 11:00 p.m.

➡️ To provide space for the shuttle, parking will not be allowed in the designated bus area between 6:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. Signs will be posted in the designated no parking area.

➡️ The boat ramp on the lower level of the park will be closed to boats for the entire day and the boat ramp parking lot will be available for public parking.

➡️ The main parking area on the lower level of the park will be closed to the public after 7:00 a.m. No parking will be allowed by the fire range on the upper level of the park.

➡️ On West 16th Street, between Avenue A and the park, no parking will be allowed on either side of the street after 6:00 p.m. Signs will be posted. The signs will be removed around 10:00 p.m. as the event ends. Police will create a single lane for traffic on that portion of West 16th Street for crowd control purposes.

☀️ The DiDomenico Municipal Pool on the upper level of the park will follow regular operating hours on July 2, opening at 10:30 a.m. and closing at 5:30 p.m., weather permitting.

➡️ The basketball courts on the lower level of the park will close at 2:00 p.m.

➡️ The park's regular bathrooms will be closed for the event. Portable toilets will be available. Both regular and handicap facilities will be provided.

‼️ If it rains on Tuesday, July 2, and if conditions allow it, the fireworks, concert, and entertainment would be rescheduled for Monday, July 8. The same times and procedures announced for Tuesday, July 2, would apply to Monday, July 8, if the rain date needed to be used. If the rain date were to be utilized, the City of Bayonne would issue the appropriate announcements.
