HAPPY SAMHAIN - FOODIE FRIDAY!

Today is Samhain on the Emerald Isle, a holiday celebrated for "Summer's End" and remembrance for the dead. A traditional treat for this celebration is Barm Brack (Barnbrack) and has special items baked inside to spell out the coming year's fortune. What is YOUR favorite Irish dish?

HAPPY HALLOWEEN - THIRSTY THURSDAY!

Did you know that your most basic Halloween traditions - dressing up and trick or treating included - started in gorgeous Ireland? They take Halloween very seriously - seriously fun! Celebrate with this spooky "spirit" featured at Raglan Road at Walt Disney World - "Druids Samhain Potion" - brought over from Ireland by the Irish proprietor himself!

Recipe serves 1:
2 oz. Jameson Black Barrel Irish Whiskey
1.25 oz. Amaretto
2 oz. apple juice
2 oz. cranberry Juice
1 oz. maraschino cherry juice
– Add all ingredients to shaker, fill with ice
– Shake, then strain into rocks glass
– Serve over food-grade dry ice and swizzle stick (available online).
– Garnish imaginatively! (Fresh apple is a fun touch!)

THIRSTY THURSDAY!

Bajtra is a popular Maltese Liqueur, infused with delicious prickly pear - and has grown massively in popularity! This delectable drink has spawned some beautiful cocktails such as the Triple K:

Ingredients
1 part Bajtra liqueur
¾ parts Tequila
¾ parts Triple Sec
Dash of Monin Crème de Casis
Kinnie (a bittersweet soft drink), to top off the drink

Method
Pour all ingredients into a cocktail shaker, only putting enough Kinnie to fill the glass
Pour the drink into the glass
