The Sinking of Chicago's Christmas Tree Ship
It was 1912, and the Rouse Simmons was determined to make it back to Chicago despite the threat of storms on Lake Michigan. Thousands of Chicagoans were counting on them to bring Christmas trees to help celebrate the holiday spirit.
Unfortunately, the ship disappeared its last voyage, sinking to the bottom of the lake with its cargo. It sat silent for decades until it was finally discovered, still full of trees...
