Private tour of Curacao, part three: Shete Boka National Park.
Curacao is an island of limestone and has a desert climate. The rock you’re seeing is coral/limestone and is typical of a lot of the beaches: they’re mostly rocky in some fashion. Shete Boka is on the north side of the island, on the roughest side. Definitely no swimming here! Super cool to see!!

Ever wonder why your agent tells you to be at the airport at least three hours ahead of time for an international flight? It’s reasons like this- the normal 35 minute drive took over an hour; then we were dropped off at the wrong terminal and had to walk about 20 minutes to get to the correct one. The main cabin/non-priority line you see here will take at least 2 hours to get through, then you have to get through security. Fortunately we have Sky Priority access with Delta and will get through the line without problem. But if we didn’t, we’d be pushing it on getting through in time. At the end of the day, it’s better to arrive early and have extra time to wait at the airport than to stress out and potentially miss your flight.
(I’m going to call it now though- I think Paris is going to struggle during the Olympics with the volumes of people traveling.)

An early morning arrival means you get to see Claude Monet’s gardens almost by yourself, with fewer crowds.
