We want to go . Really. But I am concerned about safety and the whole wonderful experience. There are still some places that are closed and Covid is still an issue. When I feel it is safe there will be more tour opportunities and I hope you will join me.

I am in Oaxaca for two months and while the locals are very vigilant and responsible about Covid protection, the numbers are still rising. As much as I want to start organizing more tours, I am not confident that the near future will be safe. Making reservations and then cancelling is expensive, disappointing, and a difficult decision. So.....waiting. Thanks for all the interest and I hope you hang on for future adventures.

My tour guests are almost always delightful. What's not to love about Oaxaca?

Returning to Oaxaca will happen. I am careful about my guests and my friends in Oaxaca. Actually a bit of a mother hen. When I feel comfortable that everything is opened up, people are vaccinated, and it is a safe experience, I will start planning some new trips. Meanwhile, save your pennies for a trip of a lifetime to the most beautiful and soulful place ever.

Our Story

I take small groups of 6-10 people to the most magical place ever. The focus is on art, especially folk art, culture, and food. We enjoy meeting artists in their studios, visiting indigenous markets, exploring ancient ruins from the Zapotec culture, and shopping. Oaxaca is a beautiful colonial city with a temperate climate all year. There are 7 distinct cultural regions in Oaxaca and one of the largest populations of indigenous people in Mexico. I have been traveling to Oaxaca since 1986 and while I have been to many parts of Mexico, I always return to Oaxaca. Many of my former group members have returned several times with me.

My tours are personal and I can design a tour around your specific interests. Over the years I have met several artists in their villages outside the city. We can visit them in their homes and receive demonstrations. There are several important archeological sites to visit outside of town that are included. In addition, I can connect you with cooking schools, and professional local guides.

Tour options: Day of the Dead in late October, Guelaguetza in July, or Focused Folk Art Tours anytime of the year. Let’s plan a tour that is perfect for you!
