Group today came all the way from Arkansas to fish with the Chunky Monkey and I’m thinking the boyz are going to have sore arms after today.
We started out targeting COHo and then went to catch some Kongs!!! Well the plan went well.
Still have spots for jigging and trollingets go!!! Fishing is amazing!!!!!!

We had another great weekend the fishing is on fire!!

We struggled on Saturday just getting fish in the boat had over 30 bites!!! Sunday we regrouped and put a 4 man in the box!!!!!
We had a mixed bay with Coho Kings and Steelhead.
I’m starting to book jigging trips on PM lake for the rest of this month and all of next month. I also have trolling trips available.

Another amazing day on Lake Michigan with our limit of kings and coho. Even a steelhead mixed in with the box of fish. Fishing is only going to get better!!! I still have tomorrow open and the weather looks amazing. Let’s get you out so you can feel the burn.

Another amazing day on the water!!! The fish is awesome and will just get better and better!!!

Jigging season is coming so you might want to think about getting everything you need. Henry’s Landing and Campground in Scottville MI has the biggest and best selection of salmon jigs and river supplies around. They also have the death hooks so if you are looking for them stop in!!! I also still have jigging trips and trolling trips available.

We are all ready to go the Scarab is now a salmon boat!!!! I will be pulling it to Ludington tomorrow. The salmon are here and we still have openings!!!! Don’t miss out they will be gone before you know it. New to the arsenal this year is all new Penns the drags and the gearing is unbelievable!!!

Last trip for 2024 Saginaw bay yesterday was an absolute smash fest!!!! After the trip we pulled the boat back to Mecosta and DanO and I turned around to get the camper. Time to move to Ludington!!!!! The salmon are big and they are mad so if you want a battle let me know.

Saginaw Bay Giant today!!! This one isn’t going to cut us off or eat any more walleyes. Still have one more trip on the bay then off to Ludington for the Kings of the lake!!!

Salmon season is coming fast!!! I have another week in Saginaw Bay and we are heading to Ludington to chase the King if the lake!!! My first trip is July 27th and go through September 30th. August is offshore trolling and September is Jigging in the harbor.

Fishing remains to be amazing on Saginaw Bay!!! Piles and smiles and limits are to be had on the Chunky Monkey!!! We are running a program of Berkley Flicker Minnows and Reel Rumors harness at 1.8 to 2.2mph. We have been fishing from 18-25ft using snap weights to get the Flickers down and 2oz inlines on our harness. With leads 30-40 back. We have open dates available for the holiday weekend so let’s get out! I’m also starting to book my salmon trips in Ludington in July.

"TAKE YOUR MOTHER TO WORK DAY"
It was great fun yesterday being out on Saginaw Bay fishing with Jody, Captain of Chunky Monkey Charters!
We caught our limit in about two hours on a gorgeous, calm, and sunny day.
Later, we headed to the Village Inn Bar & Grill in Linwood and they cooked a wonderful walleye dinner with appetizer, salad, fries, Cinna Bites, and a drink. This is a special deal if you bring in your catch from going out on a fishing charter here in the Bay. Jody and I enjoyed our dinner with Don, Nicole, two other charter captains; Dave from Hooked Again Charters, and Joey from Fishing with Joey.

We had a back to back days with Jarrod and Jim. We had our two man limit in less than two hours and Luke and I wanted to get some fish for our freezer so we stayed out and caught our fish. Being a charter captain just isn’t a business but a passion we have. So if we catch our groups fish fast I enjoy trying new techniques. We fished in 15-23ft of water pulling Berkley Hit Sticks and Flicker Minnows with Reel Rumors harnesses all at 2.0-2.5mph. If you are looking for Hit Sticks Franks Great Outdoors has the largest selection around!!!! We have also been using weighted steel instead of using snap weights. This program is super effective!!!!

Saginaw Bay just keeps getting better and better this year!!!! We have had our limits in about 2 hours. Berkley Hit Sticks are still on fire!!!! We are also pulling Reel Rumors spinners right along with the Flickers and Hit Sticks at 2.0-2.2mph. You can pick everything up at Frank’s in Linwood if you are looking for them.
We still have open dates available in June and July then we are off to Ludington for the Salmon!!!

Another absolute burner of a day again today!!!!! Had multiple triples and even had 5 on at once. Still fishing in 10-14ft pulling hit sticks 40 back as well as Berkley flicker minnows 40-60 back. We are still pulling Reel Rumors harness with 1oz inlines 20 back. Monkey Bread was the ticket today. Pulling everything at 2mph.
Just had Monday open up so let get you out and fill your freezer!!!

Absolute smack down today on the Chunk!!! We had our 32 in an hour and half then caught our fish for a fish fry dinner. Ended up with 47 walleyes and a nice pike. If you don’t have #9 Hit Sticks go get some they are absolutely on fire!!! We fished in 10-15ft out of Linwood pulling them at 2mph at 30-60back. Color didn’t matter. Also pulling Reel Rumors Crystal Harnesses right along side with them. Sweet Pea and Money have been the ticket along with some Prototypes. We still have some dates open so let’s get some!!!

We have some great news for chunky monkey charters!! Captain Luke will be offering afternoon trips on weekends (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) starting Memorial Day weekend and ending July 14th. These trips will be from 3-8pm and will include trolling or casting for Saginaw bay walleye. Captain Luke has been helping chunky monkey charters for the last 8 years as a mate and is taking the leap to captain. He’ll still help out on morning charters and will help clean fish. What an Awesome day to be on the Saginaw Bay!!! The shallow bite wasn’t happening for us so we went offshore and had it going on!!! 30-32ft was it after the water went glass flat. 2oz inlines 40 back with Reel Rumors spinners and Hit Sticks 30-30 with 1oz snap weights was the ticket. We still have open dates available next week!!!

Dave from Hooked up Again Charters and I put the buoys in at Pinconning Park today. Please use caution with the water being down this year. We found that if you stay in the middle of the channel it’s around 3 ft with the last flag marker being in 5ft. Once again please use CAUTION!!!!!

First trip for Saginaw Bay 2024 In the books!!!! An absolute smack down had a great crew weather could have been better but the fish didn’t seem to mind. We fished out a f Linwood Beach Marina in 5-7ft pulling Reel Rumors spinners with 1/2oz inlines 15ft back and Berkley flicker minnows and Hit Sticks 15ft back. Finding dirty was is the key to fish shallow water.

We still have open dates available on our calendar so let’s go spend the day on Saginaw Bay together!!! The fishing is only going to get better!!!

Total smack down on the Saginaw Bay today!!! Had quads and triples fishing in skinny water with Rumor Spinners and Hit Stick in 6ft of water 15ft back. With 1/2oz inlines and with the Hit Sticks out of Beach Marina.

The boat is all ready to go for Saginaw Bay!!! Finished doing all the yearly maintenance and did a spotless cleaning job. So let’s get it dirty again!!! I have trips available for the next week and the weather is looking great!!!
