Happy New Year to all my friends and guests. I believe we are "starting" on the final lap of completing repairs with an estimated re-opening around June 1 2024. I am closing down my personal involvement in the rental management and am in the process of handing this over to https://www.tripowervacationrentals.com/ Please do let them know that you are a returning guest as this should save you some cost. From our family to yours, wishing you all a joyful holiday season and a happy, healthy and prosperous new year.
Work continues on Fort Myers Beach to bring our condos back to their former glory. Our contractor has finished the clean up; a new roof will be started soon along with restoring some initial power. There is a lot of work planned for the New Year, and we will try to keep you all up to date on progress and when we expect to re-open (current thoughts are for end of 2023; but we will see how well work progresses). Thank you to all our friends, family and condo guests for your kind thoughts and messages. Our family evacuated to a safe hotel for 3 nights. We are heading home but to no power or communication - but hopefully it will be restored soon. It seems our house has been reasonably spared compared to many with missing tiles, water damage to floors, etc. but we will need to do a full review when we get home. But we are alive and well which is the main thing. I apologize if I haven't answered some of you directly; but I am getting a lot of communication from friends and business interests; while at the same time trying to move forward with resolving a lot of other issues. I thank you all for your kindness and patience in these difficult times.
Unfortunately we went through this process 18 years ago with Hurricane Charlie in August 2004 on a smaller scale. So it will take time to gather information and respond to everyone. Currently I have no direct information on our condos. It seems all the modern concrete buildings survived but anything wooden did not survive well. Best Wishes Richard & Denise
