Occasionally, we’ll be showcasing some of the hardworking Steger Beach Service employees that you see on the beachfront!

Today, we're spotlighting Trey, who started back in 2016, making this his ninth summer with us on the beach. Trey is a Cape May local and can typically be found working our Stockton Beach concession stand. In addition, he’s helped with pre and post-season work for the past five years. In the offseason, Trey travels a lot, with a goal to visit every continent before he is 30. This year, he’ll be going to Egypt, crossing Africa off the list.

Even though we had a taste of fall over the past couple of days, it looks like more summer-like weather is on the way this week! Select concession stands remain open. If no one is available at the concession stand and a self-service sign is placed, you may set up any of the rental items placed out in front of the stand on your own. An attendant is in the area and will come to your location on the beach to process payment and ensure proper set up. Find out the status of all stands at stegerbeach.com/locations.

Today, we're spotlighting Evan, who's been with us for 5 summers, starting back in 2020. Evan is from Delco and is a member of the Sun Valley High School class of 2024, but spends his summers locally in Del Haven. As a young kid, he spent practically every day of summer at Steger Beach. He would end up hanging out around our concession stand so much and had already learned the ropes that we just had to offer him a job! Evan is also passionate about ice hockey, with 11 years of experience on the ice.

Summer may be starting to wind down, but it’s not over yet! With good weather and warm water temps, there is still time to enjoy yourself on the beaches of ! 🌅

🔹Select concession stands of ours are still open. However, we have limited full service operations, with some concession stands being closed, and others may be self service. If no one is available at the concession stand and a self service sign is placed, you may set up any of the rental items placed out in front of the stand on your own. An attendant is in the area and will come to your location on the beach to process payment and ensure proper set up. If the nearest stand is closed, an open stand is likely not too far away down the beach! Our operations after Labor Day are dependent on weather, crowd conditions, and staffing levels.

Today, we're spotlighting Seth, who's been with us for 11 summers, starting back in 2014. Seth is a West Cape May local and is one of the main guys at our Stockton Beach concession stand. When he's not working for us, Seth is busy growing his recently launched property management business. One of his favorite quotes, which fuels his drive, is from Niccolo Machiavelli: “Nothing great was ever achieved without danger.”

Today we’re featuring Giacomo, but most people know him simply as Mo. Mo is a West Cape May local and is about to complete his 8th summer working for us, as he started in 2017. In a little over a week, he’ll be heading to his senior year at Rutgers Camden. He is a Business Marketing major and is a middle infielder for the school’s baseball team. Our Steger Beach concession stand has been Mo’s stand since 2020, and he’s enjoyed getting to know the regulars and taking care of the fans ever since.

Today we’re featuring Giles, one of our rookies this summer. Here, he is pictured carrying down some equipment at Broadway Beach. Giles is about to head off to his freshman year at the University of Maryland and will be studying Agribusiness as he grew up on a family farm on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. Giles also enjoys being by the water, as he was on his high school’s swim team and enjoys spending his summers in Cape May.

We're proud to support the upcoming S.A.L.T. (Surfers Awareness in Lifesaving Training) class hosted by the Beach Patrol on Sunday, August 11th from 7am to 9am at Beach Patrol Headquarters! This class, which is split between the classroom and the water, teaches experienced surfers how to react if there is a fellow surfer or swimmer in distress in the water. Today we’re featuring Cole, one of our rookies this summer. Here, he is pictured rolling down one of our cabanas at Trenton Beach. Originally from Glassboro, he and his family moved to Cape May when he was in 7th grade and he is now going into his sophomore year at Lower Cape May Regional High School. Cole is a three-sport athlete, playing football in the fall, basketball in the winter, and baseball in the spring. When it’s slower on the beach, he enjoys listening to 90s rap and 2000s rock. Cole says that he enjoys working for Steger Beach Service because he gets to help people fulfill their beach day.

Today we’re featuring Luke, who started working for us in the summer of 2022. He is going into his junior year at Lower Cape May Regional High School and plays football for the Caper Tigers. In fact, for much of the second half of the summer, he attends football practice in the morning before coming to work all day for us on the beach! Luke says that he enjoys working for Steger Beach Service because he enjoys being able to help people.

Paxton is a local kid who is a 2020 graduate of Lower Cape May Regional High School. With his welcoming attitude, he loves “meeting the fans” and is a great asset to the team.

The first week of July is ! Many years ago, Steger Beach Service promoted and popularized the slogan “ ” and today we still ask those visiting the beaches to refrain from littering. By leaving only your footprints, the ocean and our beaches will always be a place to have fun in the sun!

Steger Beach Service was proud to support this year’s Beach Patrol Open House. Hosted by the Cape May City Beach Safety Advisory Committee, members of the public were able to meet their lifeguards and interact with the Cape May Police Department and Cape May Firefighters. We donated bottles of our Steger Springs water and other services to ensure a successful event.

Good morning! It's officially BEACH BOX SEASON! Please EMAIL [email protected] for ALL rental inquiries. (Victorian cabanas, umbrella, chairs etc.) Secure your spot in the sun before we are SOLD OUT! Make sure to include: Your name, your contact information, your Cape May beach location, your box marker name (get creative!), and any special requests. Please make sure to let us know if you are a weekly, monthly or seasonal customer and we will gladly assist you from there. Don't forget - we have gift certificates, too! Gift the gift of FUN IN THE SUN with our surf instructors, stand up paddle board rentals, and more!

Our Story

Imagine a trip to the shore without having to lug your beach gear! Just give us a call or visit one of our 12 locations on the beach. All you have to do is show up at the beach and relax. We can even reserve your spot in the sand for your whole trip. If you do decide to bring all that gear to the sand, leave it with us for set-up service by one of our highly trained umbrella technicians. Or rent your own personal storage box!
