Estimated taxes are not a separate tax, like a sales tax. They’re simply a way to pay taxes on income you receive that does not have any tax withheld. If you don't pay enough tax either through regular withholding or estimated tax, or a combination of both, you may owe substantial amount at the end of the year. You must pay estimated tax if you expect to owe at least $1,000.Estimated taxes are due in 2014: April 15, June 16, September 15, and January 15 of 2015.
