I must admit that I hesitate in sharing this photo - feeling as if something essential is absent. Perhaps it’s knowing that no photo can ever compare to the captivation of my first lunar eclipse. Or perhaps, that no photo elicits imagination quite like hearing the phrase, “super blue blood moon.” I hope you had the chance to experience the for yourself. Reminiscing about a recent trip to Canada and what a blessing it was to see this incredible seasonal transition. During that time, it was 90F back home but frozen in Canada. Guess I couldn’t wait for winter, so found to winter instead, haha. Where I live, we don’t get many fall colors and no snow, so seeing both at once was stunning! Photo location: just outside Waterton National Park, Alberta.

I'm happy to report good results from the Silver Dollar Fair this past weekend. Of my 15 entries (entered in 10 different categories), I received 10 total ribbons: 3 first place, 4 second place, 2 third place, and 1 honorable mention ribbon.

"Enchanting Limbo" - Neither floating nor sinking... stuck in limbo; a testament of nature's fury. On October 25, 1906, the Peter Iredale ran ashore on route to Portland, OR. Fortunately there were no casualties. Later, the ship was sold and dismantled for scrap. Only it's steel skeleton remains, trapped in a sandy grave in the Lewis and Clark National Historic Park. It is one of the most accessible shipwrecks in the "Graveyard of the Pacific." Fort Stevens State Park, Oregon. September 2011.

Good times at Echo Lake, CA.

The Stoney Oaks Loop fire (southeast of Oroville, CA) was almost contained at 10acres, until this happened. It quickly grew to 100 acres around 2pm and is roughly 200 acres at this time. I saw numerous fire trucks and dozers drive by, not to mention at least 4 planes and 2 helicopters. Off of Swedes Flat Rd near Bangor, CA. Feel free to spread the news with a click of the share button.
