Yesterday, we talked about how important it is to show appreciation to our wonderful vets.

Today, it’s the farriers-

These guys and gals are a VITAL part of keeping and owning horses. Like our vets, they often go above and beyond for their clients. The old saying ‘no foot, no horse’ is as true today as it ever was.

Like vets, farriers often stand accused of doing the job and charging us fortunes-and as with vets, this simply isn’t true. The things that farriers have to deal with (and listen to), the expense of operating as a farrier to begin with and the acute risk to their safety, are things that clients should keep in mind.

I have seen farriers perform miracles with horses when even the vets have cried ‘enough’, and their judgement and skill should never be underestimated.

As for brain surgeons, I am thankfully not qualified to comment….
