Some of my favorite trips ever were taken as a Mom and Me trip with my kids. Whether it's a trip to L.A. to visit our favorite museums, a road trip down to college or a fun long weekend at the theme parks, it's that one on one time when all my attention is focused on them that I have always truly loved.

Universal Orlando has announced the official opening date for Epic Universe - May 22, 2025! I know we have all been anxiously awaiting the details!

Resort packages and tickets will be available to book starting tomorrow, October 22.

I got to see a sneak preview of the different lands when I was in Orlando last month. The portals will open to Celestial Park, the Wizarding World of Harry Potter - Ministry of Magic, Super Nintendo World, How to Train Your Dragon - Isle of Berk, and (the one I'm most excited for) Dark Universe.

There will also be a gorgeous new hotel that will be opening just at the edge of the new park - Universal Helios Grand Hotel.

Starting Oct. 30, 2024, Walt Disney World will begin piloting the rollout of Lightning Lane Premier Pass. This additional option will be available daily for Guests staying at Disney Deluxe Resorts, Disney Deluxe Villa Resorts, and other select Resorts.✨

My Monthly Rewind!

I thought the craziness would end along with Summer, but September... well, I wasn't home much in September!

- First, I hit the road for a quick road trip with a dear friend and headed to Ohio to see one of my favorite bands, Crowded House. I think that makes 14 times seeing them, and they never disappoint.

- That same week, I flew down to Orlando to enjoy Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party with friends, and then we ate our way around Epcot's International Food & Wine Festival. (The pumpkin marscapone raviolis were a huge hit!)

- A few days of meetings and fun at Universal Orlando capped off the week. There was plenty of time with characters, attractions, dining, resort tours and sales training. I even got to experience my first Escape Room - Back to the Future-themed - which was ridiculously hard but so much fun. We got a preview of what the new Epic Universe is going to look like (opening 2025!), and it looks....EPIC! Oh, and I did I mention we stayed in a beautiful suite at Sapphire Falls? I think it was my favorite Universal visit yet!

- Then it was BACK to Ohio to enjoy a weekend with my favorite blacksmith (my hubby) and some very special friends. It was also my birthday, so it was an extra special time with friends from Michigan, Pennsylvania, California and Maryland.

My Monthly Rewind!

August was a busy month, both for traveling as well as getting kids ready for Back to School.

- I enjoyed a fantastic music festival with friends and some of my favorite bands from the 80s! (Tom Bailey from the Thompson Twins was awesome!)

- Then, my daughter and I flew home to L.A. for 10 days - visiting family and friends, helping my parents pack up their house, doing a little site seeing to our favorite spots, a few days at Disneyland, and then a few days at D23 (the official Disney fan event).

- We followed that up with a whirlwind drive down to North Carolina to get her moved in for her final year of college while my son also started his final year of college up here in Michigan.

Will and I are empty nesters again and had a nice date up to one of our favorite restaurants on the lake.

I hope you all had a great end to your summer break and the kids are all on their way back to school, as well. Halloween is almost here (I know because I found a new Haunted Mansion animatronic at Lowe's!), and then Thanksgiving and Christmas will be here and gone in a flash. This is my favorite time of the year, first with the changing leaves and the scent wafting from firepits, and then to the traditions of the holidays and the family together.
