Just back from sailing Alaska with a group of friends and family! We hiked, biked, snorkeled, whale watched (saw orcas!), ate king crab, visited charming Alaska ports, went to a lumberjack show, saw lots of wildlife, sunsets, a glacier and so much more! Amazing lifetime memories made! ♥️

For the past three days I’ve been touring a variety of resorts around Cabo San Lucas, Mexico with a fantastic group of agents. Today we toured Le Blanc Spa Resort Los Cabos. After our tour of the Puglia region we moved on to the Amalfi coast and surrounding areas exploring Sorrento, Positano, Amalfi, and Ravello. During that time we also visited a family vineyard, went to the top of Mt. Vesuvius, toured Pompeii, tasted homemade limoncello, and had a lot of fun at a cooking class. For the past few nights we’ve stayed at a masseria (formerly a fortified farmhouse dating back to the 16th century). We took a day trip to UNESCO site Matera which is the 3rd oldest city in the world and famous for its cave dwellings that were inhabited until the 1950s when the Italian government started moving people out. A long list of movies have been filmed in Matera including the last James Bond movie and for travelers who want to stay for a night or two there are caves that have been turned into boutique hotel accommodations.

For the kids’ February break this year we are exploring Puglia, “the heel” of Italy. Our first stop is Lecce where we are staying in a boutique hotel which was formerly part of a 16th century palace. In the past three days we have stayed in two areas of Japan (Kinosake and Kyoto). In Kinosake we stayed at a Ryokan which is a traditional Japanese Inn with tatami mat floors and an onsen (hot springs) on-site. In Kyoto we were welcomed for a two night stay at the Ritz Carlton Kyoto. In that time we enjoyed hot springs, explored markets and temples, had a Kimono experience, a soba noodle cooking class, a private tea ceremony, a dinner with geishas, and more!

Welcome to Charm & Awe Travel Co. My name is Amy Grishman and I've had a love for travel since studying abroad in college. During that time I spent five months traveling to as many places as my wallet would allow (Spain, France, England, Italy, Portugal, and more!) Fast forward thirteen years and I'm now married to my best friend (we tied the knot in Jamaica!) and I've had two boys (both of whom got their first passport stamps before the age of one).

Through my own travels and travel planning for others, I've cultivated a passion for experiences that are charming, authentic and soul-filling. Combine this desire with a high attention to detail and I promise you a unique experience that is anything but cookie cutter.

Have you dreamed about traveling through Norway to experience the magnificent Norwegian fjords?
