Our cruise was from May 18th to May 27th, a 9 Night Greece, Turkey & Italy Cruise!

For our travel fans, our first stop after departing Athens was Santorini, Greece. I have to question why their retail port that you must tender in to is just about the highest point on the island! In fact, it is a cliff you must traverse! You have three choices, there are these long winding stairs you can climb or you might ride their donkeys up these stairs. They also offer a lift, like an enclosed sky lift, which most of us took for $8. It must be an attraction to do this, as the other three sides of the island a ship could just dock, if the facilities were there! I heard down aways from this location is a dock were goods were brought on to the island. There are all types of restaurants, bars, T-shirt shops and novelties here for sale before going up the mountain! Once a top there are a lot more shops and restaurants to enjoy! Our tour started up here after we walked all over this area. There are a lot of apartments up on this level. Reportedly, the Greek Islands are all a great vacation location for a lot of people! I guess mostly from northern Europe where the climates are cooler. Pretty views but I wouldn’t go back to vacation there! Here are some select photos!

Some may know we recently returned from a trip we promoted on Celebrity’s new ship the Ascent. There was a group of eight couples, all swing dancers. Most of us started off in Athens, Greece and flew in a few days early to tour the Acropolis and the many sites around Athens. A few couples flew into Rome first so they could do more extensive touring there before Athens. Then we boarded our ship the Ascent! What a beautiful ship. My only regret was we were so busy touring, that I would have liked more time on the ship. Here are a couple of our photos, we only took about 350! Our ship then sailed to Santorini, Greece, then to Ephesus, Turkey, then to Mykonos, Greece before sailing to Italy. There we docked at Naples, then Rome via Civitavecchia, Italy, then to Florence / Pisa, then at day at sea to our disembarkation in Barcelona, Spain, then home! A wonderful trip overall! I will attach some more photos from our tours in the future!
