While driving through Rocky Mountain National Park, I stopped at one of the pull out areas to photograph some marmots sunning themselves on a rock formation in the distance. While sitting on the rocks and getting my camera set up, a marmot came up to me about 5 feet away, stayed for about a minute then went down into the rocks. I repositioned myself to try and capture a better shot, and was so happy that I did.

While visiting Estes Park, I went up to Rocky Mountain National Park along with about 500 other vehicles at 2PM. Timed entry ended at 2PM and it seemed like everyone had the same idea. While in the park, the volume of people wasn't that bad.

Spent Saturday in Estes Park, Colorado and visited the Stanley Hotel. It was my first visit to the hotel, and I'm glad I visited. I was able to capture a shot of the entrance to the hotel without people in the shot.

Spent the morning in Crested Butte, Colorado today and went to see The Castles. The clouds were relentless and wouldn't give way to capture the full Castles. Still a beautiful day for a drive.

Went out to the Rocky Mountain Arsenal today and spotted a baby hawk and a herd of bison with lots of calves.

Spent a beautiful morning in Colorado Springs at Garden of the Gods. Went to the Siamese Twins to re-take this shot I captured a few months back. So glad that I did. The snow on the Peak and the clear blue skies made for a beautiful capture.

Went down to Colorado Springs today to capture this shot from the Siamese Twins. I've had this shot on my bucket list for some time and I finally get to mark it off.

The second BW shot is north of Palmer Lake. The fog bank was extremely thick and visibility was very limited.

The first part of my journey had me down in Colorado Springs, Colorado on Saturday for the Labor Day Lift Off. It is the first in four years since I had gone. Loved all the new character balloons there were this year. My favorites are the monster, the pig, and the frog.

The second part of my journey had me at the National Museum of World War II Aviation. This was my first trip there, and learned that all of the aircraft they have on display, are functional and they do flights daily.

Took a drive in the search for sunflowers and came up empty. Ended up going to Rocky Mountain Arsenal instead. Not disappointed at all. There was a decent herd of buffalo, saw a few bucks and a hawk.

I was going to head to Gunnison, Colorado today and then up to Ohio Pass to photograph the Castles, but the weather had other plans.

I made it up as far as Monarch and decided to turn around, and glad that I did. It didn't stop snowing until I got to Pine Junction, Colorado.

The fall colors along Hwy 50 were spectacular.

As I drove Hwy 285 between Fairplay and Jefferson, it was a complete white out. As I headed east of Jefferson, Colorado, I spotted 4 cow elk off in a field. I spooked them when I stopped to photograph them, but they stayed and allowed me to take a few photos.
