I compare the overall atmosphere at most wineries around here to a really nice farm stand. Many are repurposed old barns or homes. While no one will blink an eye if you dress nicely for pics in the beautiful scenery, shorts and a t-shirt are completely acceptable as well. The key is to always dress comfortably and wear comfortable, flat shoes!

Each place has it's own vibe, so it's a wonderful adventure to check them out and see how each establishment expresses their unique personality through their atmosphere and wines.

We just visited Boundary Breaks yesterday, and with a wink to Bruce and Diana I think they are being a little humble - their off-the-beaten path winery is stunning with spectacular views! But, they describe how most of the wineries here see themselves - local salt-of-the-earth farmers and artists that work hard to bring you lovely wines which reflect their love and appreciation for our unique little corner of the world. Cheers! 🥂

The heart and soul behind Ria's Wines! 🍇

We're thrilled to introduce to you Ria D'Aversa and Mike Penn, the founders of Ria's Wines. With a rich background in viticulture, organic farming, and winemaking, Ria and Mike have traveled the world, honing their craft in California, Italy, France and New Zealand. In 2021, they brought their expertise and adventurous spirit to the Finger Lakes, discovering the perfect terroir to grow exceptional wine grapes. After a walk around the Bagley's Poplar Ridge Vineyards in 2023, it was immediately obvious that this was a prime vineyard site, contained good soil for grapevines, and had a fully functioning winery and vineyard, WHAT LUCK! 🤩

Ria and Mike are excited to announce that the doors to Ria's Wines will open July 5th!!! Join us in our inviting tasting room, where you can savor custom wine flights, glasses, and seasonal spritzes, all while enjoying breathtaking views of our vineyard and Seneca Lake.
