Yesterday, we celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary in the most unforgettable way—a private geisha experience in a stunning 300-year-old traditional Japanese home. Stepping into this historic space felt like traveling back in time. We shared stories with the geisha, watched beautiful performances of traditional music and dance, and even got in on a fun game with them! It was an incredible way to mark this milestone, blending culture, history, and joy.
Truly an amazing experience we’ll treasure forever! "

New day- New adventure!!
Hopped on the Shinkansen from Tokyo to Osaka in the super comfy Green Car seats—total game changer! Couldn’t leave the station without grabbing a bento box (or two), and wow, the choices were insane.
Sushi? Check. Tempura? Check.
Zoomed into Osaka and made a beeline for Osaka Castle—moats, massive walls, and enough samurai vibes to feel like a warrior myself. Then hit up Dotonbori District, which was neon lights, street food galore, and giant signs of crabs, octopuses, and other sea creatures that look straight out of a carnival!
Ended the day with a kaiseki dinner that was basically a work of art. Japan knows how to make a meal and a journey unforgettable!

Sushi-making with a pro chef in Tokyo? Bucket list, checked! We got to use a real sushi knife, slicing our own fish (nerve-wracking but so satisfying), and even grated our own fresh wasabi—next level! The chef then guided us through making nigiri, which is way harder than it looks. But we got the hang of it and crafted some pretty decent pieces, if we do say so ourselves.

Best part? Eating the delicious fruits of our labor (plus a lot more from the chef, thankfully). And sparkling sake? Total game-changer! Such an unforgettable experience—Tokyo, you keep surprising us.

If you’re in Tokyo and craving sensory overload (and maybe a hint of tuna), Tsukiji Market is THE spot! This place is a full-on food wonderland, packed with endless stalls offering everything from fresh sushi and sashimi to street snacks you never knew you needed. Think seafood so fresh it could practically swim back to the ocean, plus all the mysterious sauces, spices, and gadgets that make Japanese cuisine a dream.

Walk in hungry, leave stuffed and slightly dazzled—because nothing beats munching on grilled squid skewers while navigating a maze of fishmongers, knife shops, and everything in between. And trust us, the people-watching alone is worth the trip!

Day 2 in Tokyo brought the wow factor! Started at Tsukiji Market, where we could’ve happily stayed forever—seafood, chaos, and smells galore! Then we leveled up with a sushi-making session with a pro chef who let us slice the fish and roll our own sushi. Quality? Unreal. Mercury levels? TBD.

Next stop: Asakusa! Sensō-ji was pure magic, a beautiful slice of history dedicated to Kannon, the goddess of mercy (we’ll need it after all this sushi). Ginza followed with some retail therapy and an impromptu whiskey tasting at the Whiskey Museum. High-end fashion + high-proof whiskey = high-quality Tokyo day.

We even hit the Imperial Palace before wrapping up with a killer omakase. Sure, we may be glowing in the dark now, but .

Jet lag? Oh, it's real, my friends! But nothing could slow down our first epic day in Tokyo! Here’s the scoop:

✨ Started the day finding zen at the peaceful Meiji Shrine.
🐶🐱🐷 Harajuku was a blast, with pet cafes featuring dogs, cats, pigs, and—yes—*otters*!
🚶‍♀️ Survived the chaotic thrill of Shibuya Crossing, the world’s busiest intersection!
💸 Hit up Omotesando for a taste of Tokyo’s high-end fashion scene (hello, window shopping goals!).
🍱 Lunch was next-level with tempura and some melt-in-your-mouth wagyu beef.
🌌 TeamLab Borderless blew our minds—pure imagination overload! (Stories are up for the full vibe check.)
🍜 Ended the day with a private ramen tour, guided by an *award-winning* ramen critic! Talk about noodles with a side of expertise!

In one word: WOW. What a day!

We arrived in a dark, rainy Tokyo last night, and wow—what an experience! Immigration was a bit confusing at first, but once we sorted out the QR code, we were on our way. After a quick check-in at our incredible hotel (seriously, it deserves its own post), we headed out to find some food. Tokyo Station was a treasure trove of dining options, and we had some of the best sushi ever! And this is just the beginning! I’m already obsessed, and we have eight days to explore this amazing country. Stay tuned—I’ll do my best to keep you posted on all the fun adventures!

New Month- New Bucket List Adventure 🌎

The next time you say "Must be Nice" you might want to understand the lifestyle that made it possible!
8-5 didn't make it.
Sitting on the couch watching TV didn’t make it.
Sleeping in on Saturdays didn't make it.
Calling in sick didn't make it.
Being content with where I was at didn’t make it.
It came from 15-20 hour days.
It came from beating the sun up.
It came from working on weekends.
It came from sacrificing family time.
It came from wanting a better tomorrow.
These are a few things to consider before you throw out "must be nice" at someone! We are all products of our competence. And extra efforts are what make the biggest differences at the end of the day! Success is no accident, it is hard work.
