Last year's convention (2011) united those within trucking who understood the importance, impact and value of online social media as a platform to create positive change, trust, and awareness among CMV drivers and also with one another. Founding principal of the Annual Truck Driver Social Media Convention

There are many struggles and hardships of the professional truck driver, however, many more positives are accomplished through trucking social media as well. Just recently a driver was missing for a couple of days, the family frantic, and before the police could locate the truck or the driver, Facebook spread the word virally and another driver found the parked truck, the driver deceased. Because of this sad an unfortunate incident, a new FB page emerged-
People Uniting Together !! Missing Truck Driver Alert Group- https://www.facebook.com/groups/Missingtruckdriver/

Live Coverage of EOBRS and Sleep Apnea updates from the recent MCSAC/FMCSA meeting was broadcast via Twitter and FB to all those who could not attend by Todd Dills and Richard Wilson. After last years convention, Fred Schaffner made a point to attend the MCSAC/FMCSA and has been encouraging other drivers to do so also….through social media…..and the list goes on. As Social Media has grown, positive change seekers within the industry have joined together to discuss thoughts, ideas and solutions that will best meet the needs of our nation's drivers and the industry. It is an event where the driver and those concerned, will have center stage and will be heard as the force that keeps America moving. Trucking social media is now changing the platform on which the American trucker speaks, and those concerned are listening.
