so many others can enjoy Paradise.
Welcome to our little spot on the water. Come and escape from all the commotion. This is where you can relax, let go and recharge. Enjoy the view of the water and the trees. Enjoy the sounds of nothing, but the waves crashing on the beach and the silence of the woods. Smell the fresh air flowing off the clear water.
Our History:
We are located on the Golden Shore of Whitefish Bay. This cabin has been in our family since Donald and Gene Stanko retired to Michigan's Upper Peninsula in the early 1980’s. Grandpa Stanko grew up in Detroit. He fought for his country in WW2 and stormed the beaches of Normandy. Following the war and returning home he met his wife Genevieve. Following their marriage they had three daughters, Claudia, Cindy and Camille. Grandpa Stanko worked for Boulevard Photography in Detroit, photographing a variety of automobiles during Detroit's boom era. Upon his retirement, the couple decided to move North following their oldest daughter, Claudia, who first moved to the Upper Peninsula to escape the city in the mid 1970’s where she began her teaching career and raised a family.
Upon the passing of Don and Gene, our Mother Claudia purchased the home from her sisters. A few years later, she acquired Pancreatic Cancer and passed away leaving the house to her two sons and husband.
We love this home and are so happy to share it with others. Claudia’s welcoming phrase was, “Welcome to the Paradise Resort”. We enjoyed many Sunday dinners, Birthdays, Christmas’s and countless memories in this home.
Please enjoy yourself as you watch freighters pass by, swim in the water, walk the beach, laugh and create memories.
