Dream Japan Travel Specializing in bespoke budget and luxury travel, I focus on customized experiential travel. I am happy to help you plan your Dream trip!

Growing up I always wanted to travel to Japan, I loved the culture, the history, and the arts! Now not only do I get to go at least once a year, I get to create custom trips for my clients to my favorite destination! I have been a Travel Agent since early 2017 and have loved every minute of it! I earned my JTS/JNTO Japan Travel Specialist Certification in early 2017. Whether it’s a Tokyo City trip

with the kids to experience Disneyland and Sea, with a few days spent in Kyoto for fun, or its Classic trip to Mt. Fuji to experience the relaxing Onsen baths, and then on to Tokyo and Kyoto for shopping, temples and garden visits, or my personal favorite – a visit to the northern region of Tohoku to experience incredible Sake/food, the Three Mountains of Dewa and Matsushima. Off to Japan for the first time since 2019. Excited to see old and new locations.

Travel tip # 1 -
How to save on checked baggage fees when traveling with two peices of luggage. Pack everything you can in a small carry on and and then fit that bag in the larger peice. Fill in the holes with shoes, jackets, and odd bits.

Remember to always carry valuables, and medication with you on the plane. I try and take at least an extra shirt as well, just incase my bags dont make it to my destination. I also take my toiletries with me.

What is the Shimanami Kaido?

Quite possibly the most famous of Japan’s cycling courses, the Shimanami Kaido (Map) is a stretch of islands linked by bridges that span the Seto Naikai, or the inland sea of southern Japan.

Situated between the main island of Honshu and the southern island of Shikoku, the Shimanami Kaido boasts views of turquoise seas, small fishing towns, endless islands of citrus, and the longest suspension bridge in Japan.

And the best part? you can ride it all by bike!

Japan is fully opening up on October 11th!

Tourists from all countries will now be able to visit Japan, as of October 11th, whether as part of a group or as individual travelers. The government will only require a valid COVID-19 vaccination certificate or a negative test (conducted within 72 hours before departure time). The long-awaited lifting of visa waivers, removal of entry restrictions, and elimination of daily arrival caps for international travelers mean that Japan will be fully open for tourism business.

Since June 10, Japan has let foreign visitors enter the country if the tourists are apart of a “packaged group tour with a tour leader."

📰 Good news though! You can now travel on a personally customized tour (itinerary) for you, beginning September 7, 2022, the restriction will be eased:

There are going to be two variations of package tours, in addition to the current fully monitored tours.

Here are the two new options for Travel to Japan:

📃 1. package tours with a tour leader and “free time.”

📃 2. package tours without a tour leader.

✏️ With both options you still must arrange your travel through a “receiving company.”

✏️ The receiving company is a licensed and registered Japanese travel agency, DMC, or land operator. In short, the itinerary, flight, and hotels should be arranged by a receiving company.

✏️ The receiving company will issue ERFS (Entrants and Returners Follow-up System) needed for you to apply for a visa. The visa application can be made online now. (Not available for visitors from Mexico.)

✏️ You are encouraged to pre-register to Visit Japan Web and Fast Track before departure for a faster immigration and airport quarantine process.

🎟 You must work with a Japanese “receiving company” so that the certified travel company can issue ERFS necessary for your visa and know the whereabouts of your clients.

✈️ You can book your own flights, but must give all flight information to the certified receiving company you'reworking with!

🧪 Pre-departure PCR test and Covid-negative certificate will NOT be required if the visitor can show official proof of 3 vaccinations.

💉 The vaccination proof must include your name, date of birth, the name of the vaccines (or the makers), and the date and the number of vaccinations.
If you get sick during the tour, you should contact the receiving company immediately and follow their instructions.

💉 Travelers from blue countries do not have to show proof of covid vaccination, do not have to be tested on arrival in Japan, and do not have to quarantine on arrival. For the full list of countries on the blue, yellow and red lists, see the MOFA page on covid restrictions.

😷 Also, be aware that you should avoid crowded places, ALWAYS wear a mask indoors or in other designated places, and have travel insurance that has good coverage.

If you have questions or to book your trip today, please let me know!

Happy New Year! Thank you for all your support last year and I look forward to our contact together again this year.

The history behind New Year's greetings in Japan -
The Japanese have a wonderful custom of sending happy new year’s greetings with the purpose to express gratitude to relatives, friends, and colleagues who have helped you throughout the year. They are also used to stay in touch with friends and family you have not seen for a while.
This tradition dates back to at least the Heian era (794-1185) when the nobility started to write such letters to people who lived too far away for the usual face-to-face new year greetings. When Japan’s postal service followed Europe’s lead and created postcards in 1871, they were the perfect match for these greetings that required only the writing of “Happy New Year,” one’s name and an address. The tradition has been preserved since then, becoming one of the most common new year’s celebrations throughout the history of Japan.

Dream Japan

“Live with no excuses and travel with no regrets” ~ Oscar Wilde.

Dream Japan Travel is new but I am not new to Japan tourism nor to the Travel industry. I have been a travel planner since January 2017 and have loved every minute of it! Japan is where I focus my efforts, though I also send clients to other areas of Asia, along with Mexico/Cancun, the Caribbean, the Fijian Islands, Hawaii, Disney, and the Napa area and I love doing honeymoons and destinations weddings.

Dream Japan Travel is hosted by ALTOUR, it is one of the largest international Travel Agencies, has 59 offices, more than 1,600 travel professionals and is a Travel Leaders Group partner. I chose ALTOUR to be my host agency for the support I knew they would be able to give me and the security they would be able to give my clients.

Please read my About page on my website for more on my travel experience and about Dream Japan Travel.
