Johnny "Drama" Alves of A&E's Wahlburgers and his Funky Entourage band slay "Shining Star" by Earth, Wind, and Fire on a warm August 23, 2017 evening, in the shadows of Plymouth Rock and the Mayflower II.
Does anyone know why the Massachusetts Teachers Association
Massachusetts, Alaska, Colorado, Louisiana, Maine, Massachusetts, Nevada, and Ohio are non-Social Security states. This means that you, as a member of a contributory retirement system, pay into our system instead of Social Security; you do not earn any Social Security “credits” or “quarters” for your MTRS contributions or service.
Think Mozart
While we regularly measure a young child’s hearing, we do not measure for “critical listening.”
Critical Listening - The ability to correctly identify the distance between music notes Do, Re, Mi, Fa, Sol, etc.
Example:
Do to Re being a 1-2 and Do to Mi being 1-3, and Do to Fa being 1-4, and so on.
It’d be so easy to do. Why test?
Personally, I believe testing this way would give society a better chance at discovering more “gifted” children.
Think Mozart. Are you with me? Let’s make “Critical Listening” part of Standardized Testing.
As adults, they are going to need every gift they can summon against AI.

Got moves? Not as good as this kid’s.
Americans can learn from Down Under the Rock.

Tonight I watched the 60-Minutes episode about the family of a man who commissioned the last known slave ship “Cotilda” and their efforts to make amends.
When I saw the “cargo hold” of the Clotilda as it rested on the bottom of a Mobile Alabama river, it reminded me of the eerie feeling I felt on the deck of the Mayflower II as I looked down at the grated opening of its cargo hold.
Another story for another day.
I applaud the new generation of the Meahers for the actions they’ve taken and hope some in Texas follow in their footsteps. Namely the Jim Crow era Black Code atrocities occurring after the discovery of oil in Gregg County.

The Clotilda was the last known slave ship to bring enslaved Africans to America in 1860. The burned ship was discovered in Alabama – not far from where many...

There are many reasons to hold onto your cell phone as long as possible and then recycle it. Here is one more.

My brother Miguel, God Rest His Soul, died of a fentanyl overdose in July of 2019. I’m asking all of you who knew Miguel, and know me, to please take 3 minutes of your day to watch this video.
The video is much longer than three minutes but three minutes is enough to get somewhat of a sense of what is happening to our country, while we are being distracted by other seemingly more important issues.
Just three minutes. That's all I’m asking.
Note: I know that some of you will not watch it. You’ll dismiss it as political propaganda. Maybe even reply back to me with some sort of smart-ass comment. And to those who choose the latter, I guarantee you that I will dismiss you immediately as a “Fakebook” friend. So go ahead, say what you must. Get it out of your system. Make my day. I probably have too many Facebook friends anyway. And I will pray for you. Pray that you don’t a close friend or relative of your own, to the hell of fentanyl.
By the way, in case you didn't know. At the time of Miguel’s death, he was holding down a six-figure job, working lots of overtime, for Rolls Royce’s Marine Division. Was he the best father, brother, son, boyfriend, etc? No, but he was doing the best he could.
That's why I am appealing to you, to do the best you can. Watch the video not just for me but for the American children who laugh and play among us, and those who today are but a sparkle in their father's eye.
Thank you.

I wonder how many automobile accidents have been caused by a driver searching for their cell phone or something else that has fallen between the driver's seat and the center console.
Can’t automobile manufacturers put wings on both sides of the console to prevent this from happening? It's such a PITA.
Summertime can be so much fun and at the same time bring so much heartache and tragedy. Please be careful out the people! Life is very fragile. So sorry for the family of officer Sean Bagley. 😢

I visited Plymouth Rock yesterday. As usual I heard some people commenting on its size or lack there of and I thought, “I cannot wait until my CD drops, people will read the story and hear the music that goes along with it!” Maybe they’ll be a little more understanding and share the Rock’s story with others. We’re on track for an October release!
