March Momcation-ette learning #1: always, always, always get travel insurance.
We made the trip, in large part, because Megan found CHEAP flights. But when you fly Allegiant, a winter storm hits your destination location, and Allegiant has limited options to get home, you may be stuck for a while and/or rack up bill to get there/hold on until you get home.
I meant to get travel insurance, but we planned Momcation so quick (less than 10 days), it slipped my mind. It would have cost me less than $100. Plus, it was just me. I figured it would all be fine. But I didn't get it, and we got delayed, and it ended up costing me (excluding Megan's expenses) more than $500+ to get home the next day that could have been reimbursed by travel insurance.
I've seen travel insurance save SO many vacation investments that have been saved because of insurance. You may not end up using it, but if you have to, you will be SO glad you did.
Because I'm a glass half full kinda gal, one unexpected positive thing was enjoying a meal at La Crêperie de Paris in Epcot! OH MAN. Whether you're craving something savory or sweet, they have you covered!
