Quick story, I got my passport back in 1998 and took my first international trip to London at the age of 32. The following year, to Amsterdam and Prague with my husband at the time. He was the reason why I started traveling. Fast forward to 2012, at 46, I founded CurlFriends Abroad, a travel club that evolved into Ultimate Experience Abroad in 2017, along with a new business partner.

Over the years, I've personally had the privilege and pleasure of exploring the world with some incredible people. From Africa to Europe, South America to Indonesia, Iceland to the Middle East – it's been a journey of a lifetime that started with a group of people I didn't know and who didn’t know each other. We all just trusted the process because we wanted to do something different.

It was my first experience abroad before 2012 that was behind the inspiration to create this platform where others could also explore the world and it’s still UEA’s purpose today!

I got a call from my cousin about our group trips in general, but he wanted to know about the trip to Rome for him and his wife and his question was, will there be other guys on the trip.

We get this question ALL the time and while our group trips are open to all regardless of gender, race, or relationship status, it's typically, more women than men.
