Each year, our favorite prison from The Shawshank Redemption transforms into the home of the Inkcarceration Festival, bringing rock and alternative music lovers from all over the world to the legendary Ohio State Reformatory. It’s truly amazing to witness the versatility of this historic site on the Shawshank Trail — from film buffs exploring movie history to music enthusiasts rocking out at one of the year’s biggest festivals. 🎸🎥

Your favorite prison just got cooler! Escape rooms now open!

The weather is cooling down and we're all going to need to find some fun, indoor activities for the winter. Why not come spend some time trying to escape OSR?

Our escape rooms now have weekend evening times, beginning this week! The Shawshank themed room is open and available for booking now. Our second escape room, the Zombie Apocalypse Lab, is coming soon!

Have you visited the Frank & Rae Darabont Gallery at The Ohio State Reformatory?

Today's restoration before and after features the 2nd floor central hallway in the administration area. We completed this section about a year ago, so if you haven't visited in a while, this will be all brand new!

Frank and Rae Darabont donated their collection of Shawshank movie and promotional posters from around the world. They are all installed along the 2nd floor hallway.

We're open for tours and escape room experiences Thursday-Monday, 11am-4pm, with extended evening hours in the escape rooms on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights. For more information or to purchase tickets, please visit our website at ohiostatereformatory.org.
