Wow! Huge changes coming to Southwest Airlines in mid-2025! ✈️

Assigned and Premium Seating

After listening carefully to Customers and conducting extensive research, Southwest decided it will assign seats and offer premium seating options on all flights. The airline has been known for its unique open seating model for more than 50 years, but preferences have evolved with more Customers taking longer flights where a seat assignment is preferred. Additionally, Southwest conducted robust operational testing that included live and over 8 million simulation-based boarding trials. The airline is confident that these Customer enhancements will meet expectations and not compromise the airline's operational efficiency.

The research is clear and indicates that 80% of Southwest Customers, and 86% of potential Customers, prefer an assigned seat. When a Customer elects to stop flying with Southwest and chooses a competitor, open seating is cited as the number one reason for the change. By moving to an assigned seating model, Southwest expects to broaden its appeal and attract more flying from its current and future Customers.

In addition to assigning seats, Southwest will offer a premium, extended legroom portion of the cabin that research shows many Customers strongly prefer. While specific cabin layout details are still in design, Southwest expects roughly one-third of seats across the fleet to offer extended legroom, in line with that offered by industry peers on narrowbody aircraft.

The decision to update the seating and boarding model is part of Southwest's ongoing modernization efforts. During the past two years, Southwest has enhanced its onboard offerings with improvements such as faster WiFi, in-seat power, and larger overhead bins. Work is well underway on a refreshed cabin design, including new, more comfortable RECARO seats. The addition of assigned and premium seating will give Customers more choice and is expected to further enhance the all-in value Southwest Airlines is known for.

Finally - a new adult only resort in Aruba! JOIA by Iberostar is accepting reservations with an opening date of late 2024. This resorts is ADULTS ONLY and will include only a partial meal plan (continental breakfast), not a fully all inclusive plan. This is no problem in Aruba, where there are hundreds of restaurants within walking distance. This resort will actually have Swim Ups, which are scarce in Aruba!

We are Certified Aruba Experts with the Tourism Board and offer TONS of insider tips and restaurant guides for clients that book with us!

Konoko Falls & Green Grotto Caves - so fun and a chance to learn about the history, culture and flora & fauna of Jamaica! These are two different tours that I paired together for a great half day experience in Ocho Rios & Runaway Bay.

I am so excited to share that I will be heading to Costa Rica 5/19 - 5/25 to experience 11 amazing luxury properties from Guanacaste to Arenal to Papagayo to Playa Conchal!

We will be seeing Dreams Las Mareas, Four Seasons Resort Costa Rica, Tabacon Thermal Resort & Spa, The Springs Resort & Spa at Arenal, Nayara Gardens, Westin Reserva Conchal, W Costa Rica, El Mangrove, JW Marriott Guanacaste, Arenal Kioro Green Luxury, & Secrets Papagayo. We will also be headed to a Sloth Sanctuary one day.

This review of the new adult only Grand Velas Boutique Los Cabos is from luxury clients of mine who have never done an all inclusive, as they usually stay at 5 star traditional resorts. Grand Velas is in a class by itself and is one of the only all inclusive brands that is truly considered a high end luxury experience. Its the only all inclusive brand with a 5 star rating from Forbes. 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟

“We had an absolutely fantastic time at the Grand Velas Boutique in Cabo and would most definitely recommend to anyone considering Cabo, or anyone who likes an all-inclusive resort. I will list to make it easier for me to explain:
1. The staff were tripping over themselves to service us
2. The resort is gorgeous; our room looked out over the Sea of Cortez which was beautiful. All of the restaurants and lounges and various parts of both resorts were very classy
3. We had a personal concierge who contacted us every day to see if we needed anything.
4. While we were sitting at or in the pool, someone would come by to see if we wanted anything to drink. They always provided water minimally. Even when we were sitting on the beach we were serviced. A lovely woman came around multiple times with fruit, chicken skewers, ice cream, and other snacks.
5. We spent 2 days at our resort at the infinity pool, 1 day on the beach at our resort, and 1 day at the other Grand Velas for a change of scenery. You cannot swim at the beach because it is too dangerous but you can walk along it. We put our feet in and it was cold!
6. The food in the restaurants was like a culinary explosion! Excellent with many many choices. Everything was ordered off a menu - no buffets except for breakfast. But the breakfast buffet was high end with meats, cheeses, fruit, Mexican food, salads, an omelet station, etc. And I could order a cappuccino.
7. The wines and mixed drinks were wonderful as well
8. The resort offered a cheese and wine afternoon event, and a tequila and mescal tasting but we did not go to either because we were content sitting by the pool.
9. We did not go off the property for any excursions
10. The transportation to and from the property was great. On time, and very professional. It was a bit of a mob scene when we arrived with various transportation services in your face, so we were very glad to have had you make the arrangements
11. The Cocina de Autor restaurant is a fixed menu with a tequila cocktail to start and wine pairings with each course that was unbelievably great. After talking with another couple who said this was their favorite restaurant there, we changed our last night’s dinner to this place and were happy we did. Velas 10 was our second favorite restaurant for dinner. The rack of lamb was great and it is located on the side of the other resort away from the other restaurants. The Loto Grill in our resort was our third favorite. Small plates for sharing with a lot of help from our waiter on what to order. Delicious. Frida’s was very good as well, in 4th place.

💦 The wait is finally over! Toboganxote at Xplor Park in Mexico is finally open as of TODAY! 💦

This is the only 5-in-1 waterslide in the world! Toboganxote combines four different types of descent. You will start at 135 ft (41 m) tall on a raft for 4 people to enter the sphere as you move like a pendulum until reaching the exit towards the wave and getting to the tallest point before going down to the whirlpool. After spinning, you will be shot to the 72-ft vortex, which is the largest in Latin America, and zigzag sliding until getting to the wave pool.

Note:

•The minimum height to participate is 4.2 ft (1.30 m).

•It is mandatory to use a helmet and know how to swim.

•Each raft is for 4 people and the maximum weight per raft is 705 lb (320 kg).

•The maximum weight per visitor is 300 lbs (136 kg).
