Today the State of Iowa celebrates the legacy and achievements of George Washington Carver who broke educational color barriers and became an American agricultural pioneer.

We join in on this celebration for many reasons, but most important of all is the mentorship and inspiration he gave to none other than Henry A. Wallace. Their friendship made a lasting impact on Henry A. as he pursued the path of seed hybridization.

We took advantage of the good ice and warm temperatures today and added a bunch of rock at Lake Orient. This rock will provide structure for all species of fish for years to come. With the warm temperatures this week please use caution around this area. Large amounts of water are already on top of the ice around these rocks with the added weight.
