Wow! The power of our words. It’s not just a cliche. Our words really do have a lasting impact and they are never neutral.

🌲 My words impact my own mind. How I speak about myself impacts my self-esteem, identity and actions.

🌲 My words have an impact on those around me, both in my home and those I come in contact with throughout the day. I can literally change a person’s day with the right words, or I can ruin it and hurt them.

🌲 My words affect the spirits of those I come in contact with. I can bless and “affirm their belovedness” (as Henri Nouwen says). I can call out the good in others and build up their spirits.

We understand what a cluttered house or closet is like, but have you ever thought about how your spirit or mind gets cluttered, or even your schedule?

We are integrated beings and when one area feels cluttered everything gets overwhelmed. This week, we pick up where we left off in last week’s episode and talk about what happens when our spirits and our minds and our schedules are cluttered.

I feel like I have to constantly bring awareness to this because of the culture that we live in. What are some practices and safeguards we can put in place to keep this clutter at bay?

The extended quote by Macrina is so good:
“ I suppose I could say that this call to get rid of possessions is not the heart of the matter; what God wants is me. I could give up everything and still be full of myself or proud of my great emptiness. Still, the giving up of clutter is a valid symbol. It can be the beginning of letting go, and and so the beginning of truly giving myself. But it is important to remember the reason for taking inventory of my life. Surely, it is so that I can have a freer self to present to God.”

I just love that idea of a “freer self to present to God”.

this is a follow up from last October interview, where Tina was still in the midst of surgeries and healing and all of that. When we check in with her this year, we see that she is competing in triathlons (some with her husband)! Shes also learning and getting ready to coach others in their cancer journey.

Guess what? You get to be one of the first to benefit from all that she has learned over the past year. I have already learned so much from Tina and I’m putting in place some of the things she taught us in this interview. She gives us such practical tips for proactively guarding our health. 👏👏

Calling attention to this amazing woman I call SISTER!
What a beautiful soul Deb is, spreading magic and light wherever she goes. ✨ 🧚
We’ve done 9 retreats together and she is the reason (mostly behind the scenes) for the beauty, decor, warmth and uniqueness. She is a fantastic decorator, creator, and yoga instructor. But what really creates the magic 🪄 is the way she draws people out, listens with compassion, and pulls you in close so you feel safe.
She’s an important part of Breathe & Be and my precious baby sister. (And hopefully she still speaks to me after putting some spotlight on her 😜💝).

It’s not her birthday or anything like that, but this girl deserves celebrating simply for who she is!
