Buongiorno, tutti!
We are getting a lot of questions and concerns regarding the Jubilee in Rome next year, so I thought I would take a minute to explain a little about the Jubilee and why you should still book your trip!
1) What is the Jubilee? A jubilee is a Catholic holy year (beginning this year on 24 December), holding profound significance in the Catholic church, and is a year of pilgrimage and renewal. It occurs every 25 years.
2) Will Rome be crowded? Rome has been busier and busier since even before the pandemic. Rome is Italy’s capital city, it is a large city, and it is a popular city to visit in general. Rome is always busy during peak travel season. Since the Jubilee lasts a year, the uptick in travelers will be mainly Catholic pilgrims, spread out over a full calendar year. Otherwise, we are simply dealing with crowds as we do every year in Rome!
3) Should you wait to book a trip to Italy all because of the Jubilee? NO! The Jubilee holds historical significance, and while more travelers are anticipated over an entire course of 365 days, what a fabulous moment to say you’re in Rome! Rome will be absolutely beautiful, and there will be special events in town as well.
4) Should I book my 2025 trip to Rome or Italy in general a bit earlier this year? Yes, this is advised to secure best rates!
Feel free to ask any other questions you have about the Jubilee in the comments section below, and check out this video from Elyssa at Romewise which even better explains various aspects of the incredible 2025 Jubilee!
Wondering what the 2025 Jubilee is all about? How it will affect your Rome travel plans? If you should still come to Rome or cancel your trip?Get the scoop o...

If you have visited Naples, you’ve probably heard and might even agree with the expression (of unknown origin): “See Naples and then die.” The sentiment is that Naples’ beauty, food, and history could place it among those spots on the must-see list and there’s no need to travel anywhere else. Courtney, who grew up in Kentucky and has spent the past 28 years living between Kentucky and Naples, and Mario, a second-generation Neapolitan, agree.
Courtney says: “You feel Naples’ vibrancy instantly — on the Mediterranean Sea, with a backdrop of seven castles, colorful architecture, and all dominated by Mt. Vesuvius. To understand Naples, travelers must dedicate time to understanding its layers and looking past its faults. The reward is a reminder of what it means to be human, and likely a pull to return.”
Embrace the southern Italian city as more than a transfer point — to the Amalfi Coast or the islands on the Gulf of Naples — but as a destination in its own right. Azzurro Dream Travel shares tips for spending quality time there.

It has been thousands of years since the eruption of Mount Vesuvius left the Roman city of Pompeii in ruins, but the ancient archaeological site continues to offer new findings.
An ornate "blue room," distinguished by depictions of female figures on the cerulean-painted walls, was newly excavated by archeologists, according to a press release from the Archaeological Parks of Pompeii earlier this month.
The room, which is nearly 90 square feet, was initially discovered during the Bourbon period (1813-1840) but was recently excavated and shown for the first time on May 27.
The room has been interpreted as a sacrarium, or a Roman sanctuary.

The famous tart-sweet liqueur known as limoncello requires only four ingredients: lemon peels, grain alcohol, sugar, and water. However, like many of Italy’s most important culinary traditions, the simplicity of the recipe can be deceiving.
As in making a good risotto, a fine wheel of Parmigiano-Reggiano, or a bottle of traditional balsamic vinegar, good limoncello results from quality ingredients, generations of knowledge, small but critical tweaks in the recipe, and well-kept family secrets passed down over generations.
Today, the lemons of Capri and the Amalfi Coast are considered extra-special. The trees clinging to the cliffsides hang heavy with fruit, sending a heady scent into the air. One of my favorite walks is along the meandering paths of this coastline, lined with lemon trees trained into arbors that provide refuge from the sun.
You can also order limoncello at virtually any restaurant or bar in Italy, but visiting the Amalfi Coast offers a wonderful opportunity to appreciate the cultivation of lemons as well as the production of limoncello and other lemon-based products. Here are a few ways to experience it:

Our story
We always say that fate brought us together on the eve of July 10, 2009. In the hills of Sorrento, Italy, with a view of the azzurro sea, surrounded by lemon and olive groves, a boy from Naples, Italy met a girl from Lexington, Kentucky, USA; their futures, dreams, and roots spontaneously interwoven. At that moment, after years of working for top international tour companies in the Italian travel industry, we decided to take a step back, focus on our growing family, and find a way to provide independent travelers with a simplistic, personal, and affordable option of booking dream travel to our beloved Italy.
What we do
Azzurro Dream Travel was created in 2015 to support independent explorers. We offer an alternative to traditional travel booking by connecting individuals and families with the most reputable international and local companies to make their Italian travel experience customized and memorable. We partner only with companies bearing the highest standards and reviews as well as those we have personally booked and passionately support as a family of 5. By following our blog, you will have access to hand-picked travel and Italian-themed products, travel tips, and unique opportunities for families, couples, as well as travelers who fly solo.
If you get lost in your quest to create the perfect trip, we are only a click away! Contact us with any questions you have about planning your dream trip to Italy!
A presto!
