Hi everyone. First, thank you all for the outpouring of love and support. It means so much to me and Fi and Keenan. Yesterday I managed to talk my way through the roadblock and delivered $1000 worth of food, gas, diapers, etc. to the folks stranded on the westside without potable water and electricity. Driving through Lahaina was sobering and devastating. It was tough to keep my composure, had do dig down deep and revive the firefighter/Army Ranger in me and stay stoic. I just picked the "most needy" looking neighborhoods and drove through subdivisions and apartments and such asking everyone I saw if they needed anything. I was able to help lots of people and it felt good to help them. Unfortunately, the destruction in Lahaina is complete. Besides a few homes and business here and there that somehow survived, all of Lahaina is basically razed to ash. The Banyan Tree is scorched real bad but will probably survive. I just can't get over what really matters though, the loss of life, people, pets, wildlife, it's horrendous. And, for those who escaped, the loss of their homes, possessions, businesses and jobs is hard to imagine. This is a catastrophe for Maui. If you can spare a dime, we need all the help we can get. This organization is vetted and promoted though Maui County's website and FB page so it's legit. Please help if you can. Much love to you all.

Thank you to everyone for your kind words and thoughts. The reality of this has really set in this morning and I can't stop crying. I believe the death toll will be huge. There were literally hundreds of homeless people living in Lahaina town who would not have been able to outrun those flames, the elderly, the pets, the wildlife,,, this is horrifying.

Maui is an Apocalypse right now. Fires have completely destroyed all of Lahaina from the ocean up the hill to the Lahaina Bypass Highway, much of Kula including the Kula Lodge, and fires across the "Valley" flat lands. We did the road to Hana private tour. Our guide Fi was fantastic. She is super personable and full of information. Everyone had a good time and have talked about it all day today. This was our second time using this company and I highly recommend them.
