on excursions, leisure time and optional activities. We speak only French; we also laugh a lot. When we’re not engaged in animated discussions about France today, we're collectively pooling ideas for new lesson plans or perhaps spending our free time in the monuments, museums or bookstores we’ve been longing to visit. For those who love cultural tourism, we offer a host of small group tours. Paris for Women trip in the fall and spring of each year gives a wonderful overview of what the city offers in feminine delights and old world charm, and Wine with Everything is a great girlfriend getaway in Provence in August.

The French Traveler checked out one of Paris' newest museums, La Maison Élysée. This musée is a must for francophiles as it gives visitors a close look at the republic's most famous residence. In fact, l'Élysée is located just opposite, and you have a direct view when sitting in the museum's salon de thé which offers sumptuous pâtisseries created by Alain Ducasse, Fabrice Desvignes, le chef of the presidency, and the pastry chef Lun-Yi Hsing.

The price is right at 0€...but it is recommended that you sign up online. The gift shop is also an experience as it offers made in France souvenirs that are hard to pass up...from watches, to soaps, to socks with Marianne's face on them.

The highlight of the museum is the replica of le Salon doré which gives you a look at the président's official office that dates back to Général de Gaulle!

🇫🇷✨ Fun Fact: The Basque Country is home to La Pelote Basque, a traditional sport played with a small rubber or leather ball hurled against a wall at high speeds! This exciting game is beloved across the region and has its own unique set of courts, or frontons, which you’ll find in almost every Basque village. Visiting? Catching a game or even trying it out is a must! 🎾🏛️

The Basque Country of France is that it is home to the unique Basque language, Euskara, which is unlike any other language in the world. Unlike most languages in Europe, Euskara is not related to any Indo-European language family. Its origins are still a mystery, and it is considered one of the oldest languages in Europe. The language is a crucial part of Basque identity and culture, and efforts to promote and preserve it are strong in both the French and Spanish Basque regions.
