Normandy American Cemetery... a hauntingly beautiful place created to honor & remember the soldiers who fought & ultimately won World War II.

To say this was an emotional day would be an understatement. Walking these hallowed grounds as I heard the story of my grandfather (a 20-year-old boy) being showered by bullets & bombs has forever changed my view of the history lesson I thought I knew.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
A huge thank you to , who brought this day to life for me. From riding in military vehicles down to Omaha Beach, to giving me a personal role in a memorial service, I felt the story come to life in a way I would have never been able to create on my own.

This was one of my favorite areas at Disney California Adventure park in Disneyland. The Incredicoaster was amazing and there are several things for the younger set to do—Toy Story Midway Mania, Jessie’s Critter Carousel, Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind, Goofy’s Sky School, and Pixar Pal-Around (the fun wheel). If you’re interested in watching World of Color at night—and you should be, because it’s amazing—you’ll want to be in an area with this view so that you can see all of the amazing projections on the water.

Lately the majority of my early mornings have consisted of spending an hour or so brushing up on my French. By no means am I even close to becoming bilingual... but I tell myself it will help my upcoming trip to Paris go smoother and be more enjoyable. I've found that my strength in learning a new language lies in reading/translating the written word and NOT in speaking it. (Let's just say, I like the French language like I like my own Southern dialect: slow and drawn wayyyy out.) After a couple of inconsistent months with my nose in Rosetta Stone, I feel good about my abilities to navigate Charles DeGaulle aeroport and possibly a menu or two. 🥐 🥖 🇫🇷 🥐 🥖 🇫🇷 🥐 🥖 🇫🇷

In September, I had the privilege of visiting Riquewihr, France, the town that inspired Beauty & the Beast. Riquewihr is located on the Alsace Wine Route in eastern France and it is a real life fairytale village.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This provincial town is all about attention to details: perfect flower planters, water wells, cobbled streets dotted with half-timbered winemakers’ shops and tasting rooms, all labeled with handmade ornate metal signage. Every corner more charming than the next.

Overlooking the town, you'll find the watchtower, Dolder Tower, (Est in 1291) which was once used for defense, but today houses a museum of the towns history including medieval weaponry.
