So this happened to Hope Lee today. Got a call that she was on her side and going down. By the time I got there she was sunk. My neighbors jumped in to action and we raised her up, pumped it out, sealed the hole and refloated. Tomorrow I will pump out the oil, pull the plugs drain all the water out of the engine, refill with oil, attach new fuel and get her running again. Times two engines. BOATS!!

Holes in boats are bad things. Last night around 6:30, the night before we were planning on leaving for 6 months, a log decided to go through the bottom of Hope Lee while she sat at the dock. Luckily we were still around and saved her by first stuffing whatever I could find in the hole (life jacket) and wedging a pole against it to hold it in, slowing the leak. I then took the raw water intake from the engine and used the engines to bilge the boat. I was able to call a friend who showed up and I used the same life jacket cut in to pieces to create a fill material and then screwed 1x4 boards to hold the foam from the life jacket in to place. Wilmington Marine Center thankfully pulled her this afternoon and put her in their storage yard until we get back. Time for an adventure on Jade.
