Banjoe Vacations Short term rental properties in the Asheville, NC area. Life is better in the mountains. We are a local, family-owned vacation rental company.

The name, Banjoe, is just a collection of the first letters in our names – ‘B’ is Bruce, ‘an’ is for Anna (our youngest daughter), ‘jo’ for Jo, my wife, and ‘e’ is for Erin (our oldest daughter). We live in Asheville, NC, and absolutely love living, working, and playing in the mountains. For us, renting our homes is all about sharing our love of the mountains with others. We are incredibly fortuna

te to have properties we can rent out, especially here in Asheville where there is something of an affordable housing crisis. For that reason, we are committed to contributing 10% of our profits back to the community, especially to help support the homeless and to support improved housing for everyone in our community. We are proud to support Homeward Bound’s efforts to create permanent supportive housing for the chronically homeless in Asheville. It is with mixed feelings, both sad and happy, that I announce that we have sold Banjoe Vacations to PMI Blue Ridge. They do a fantastic job and I'm sure Banjoe is now in great hands. Banjoe Vacations invites you to The Bay Escape. Step out onto the screened porch overlooking the lake and you can almost hear yourself relaxing. This four-bedroom, two-bathroom getaway is situated on Tryon Bay, a sheltered cove on the south side of Lake Lure. There is a dock, and we provide kayaks. The house is within walking distance to The Lake House restaurant (the locals still know it as Larkin's), and the Ingles Market grocery store is less than a mile away.

Our Story

Banjoe Vacations is a small, family-owned vacation rental company. The name, Banjoe, is just a collection of the first letters in our names - 'B' is for me, Bruce, 'an' is for Anna (our youngest daughter), 'jo' for Jo, my wife, and 'e' is for Erin (our oldest daughter). We live in Asheville, NC, and absolutely love living, working, and playing in the mountains. For us, renting our homes is all about sharing our love of the mountains with others.

The Enchanted Cottage was our first property, and holds a special place for us. It is a rustic lake front cottage on Lake Lure’s main channel that sleeps 12. We have arguably the best view on a lake known for its fantastic views. Our house comes complete with UNLIMITED USE of our pontoon boat for cruising the waters of Lake Lure any time of day, fishing, and swimming! Multiple decks with rocking chairs and swings for everyone to find their special place to 'just be' and enjoy the majestic mountains and lake directly in front of you. There is an outdoor fire pit for roasting marshmallows or for just enjoying a fire on cool evenings.

The Banjoe Condo, on the other hand is in a brand new building, right in the heart of downtown Asheville! Stay at the condo and visit Asheville like an insider. We have free parking for 1 car - which you won’t need. Ashevilles breweries and award winning restaurants are all an easy walk from your front door.
