So what business are you in? How do you handle your business? Do you keep your clients informed? Do you treat them with the respect they deserve and hope that they do the same in return? If you make a mistake do you admit it, explain what might have happened and do you very best to fix things? Is integrity on the top of your list? Do you keep the line of communications open? Does this mean that you hope your client will communicate to you as openly as you do them? Do you make promises you know you can keep? Years ago I was a manager with Morrison's Cafeteria. I can't say I enjoyed the job but I can say I learned more in those 2-3 years about business than any place else in my early career. They had a golden rule. They didn't invent it, but for the many years they were successful they drilled it in to you. "Treat the customer as you would want them to treat you." Do that they said, and your customers will become regulars, and regulars will eventually become friends in many cases. In the end they drifted away from this philosophy and their business began failing. I pledge to you, my clients and friends, that I will always treat you with the ultimate respect you deserve. I pledge to work as hard to keep your business as I did to earn it the first time. All I ask in return is a chance to earn it, keep communications open and hope that you understand how much I appreciate you! :)
