Receiving that award this year for outstanding leadership in promoting wildfire mitigation is Pat Dwyer who is only one of seven recipients in the entire country to receive it and the only recipient from California.

With preventing wildfires so much in the news, being the recipient of a 2019 Wildfire Mitigation Award is a special form of recognition especially as it’s limited to just a few people or organizations. Established and co-sponsored by the National Association of State Foresters, the Internation

Why does someone run for EID?

I’m running because EID is vital to our quality of life – from keeping us rural, to fire safety. If elected, I’ll use my team-building skills and business judgment to restore respect and teamwork at EID, protect your water rights, oppose the state’s water rationing, and control rates while maintaining EID’s assets.

I’m not a yes man. I won’t always agree with EID’s Board and management, but you can count on me to respect decisions once they are made, and to follow ALL District policies, not just the ones I like. That’s who I am.

Happy Halloween! Misinformation can be scary out there!

Very grateful for all of the great support out there - much appreciated!

We are running an honest and transparent campaign with the ratepayers and County's best interest always in the forefront of every decision.

Just to clarify some information being misrepresented;
There are a few friends that have chosen to support my campaign that live in Folsom, Sacramento, Auburn and Fair Oaks.

"My campaign 460 shows I have 92 donations listed with only six small supporters from outside the County. They are friends and supporters from Folsom (2), Sacramento (2), Auburn, Fair Oaks."

If anyone has any questions please call me at 530-391-4493. I welcome the opportunity to share who I am and what I will do for you.

Your money down the drain on a frivolous lawsuit inspired by my opponent - Your money could have fixed leaks and worn-out generators. This isn't including staff costs and their morale wasted on personal agendas.

I'm different; public service is in my DNA. Honor me with your vote, and I will restore common sense, civility, and teamwork to EID.

From the Desk of Pat Dwyer, Candidate for EID Division 2
Dear Ratepayers,
We all depend on El Dorado Irrigation District for efficient, reliable water and sewer service. But my opponent is constantly derailing EID and costing us money, by pushing his personal agenda of pet peeves.

The latest example occurred just days ago, when EID resolved a class-action lawsuit that was prompted by my opponent’s peculiar views about water rates. The suit was frivolous from the start – as a recent California Supreme Court decision made clear. Still, EID had to spend more than $70,000 on lawyers’ fees to fight it off.

That’s $70,000 of our money that won’t be spent fixing leaks or replacing worn-out power generators. Not to mention the time EID staff wasted focusing on the dispute, instead of on issues and initiatives that really do save us money.

Too many politicians today offer nothing but division and conflict. I’m different; public service is in my DNA. Honor me with your vote, and I promise to restore common sense, civility, and teamwork to EID.

Sincerely,

Pat Dwyer

Congratulations to a great harvest Madrona Winery Apple Hill California "A longer time on the vine gives Bush’s staff of roughly a dozen some breathing room, as well. Bush’s staff works year-round, he said, taking on different aspects of the arduous winemaking process."

Thanks for contributing to the economic health and beauty of our County.

Accompanied by 5-year-old farm dog Sprocket, Madrona Vineyards owner Paul Bush plucked a bunch of grapes from a half-ton bin on Thursday, admiring what he said is exceptional color in this year’s crop. In the midst of harvest season, Bush’s staff hauled in bins and bins of cabernet sauvignon gra...

The incumbent's version of being fiscally conservative isn't working and hasn't reduced EID'S spending and debt. That is the status quo. That is the incumbent.

I am different, I will negotiate and build consensus to find sensible answers to complex problems with fairness to the ratepayers built in.

Thank you El Dorado Hills Chamber BACPAC for your unanimous vote of support:

Dear Mr. Dwyer:

I am pleased to inform you that the El Dorado Hills Chamber of Commerce Business and Community (BACPAC) has voted unanimously to endorse your 2018 campaign for reelection to the El Dorado Irrigation District Board of Directors.

As you are well aware, the El Dorado Hills Chamber BACPAC advocates and promotes an agenda favorable to El Dorado Hills’ businesses in an attempt to spur economic growth, increase employment opportunities and hopes to enhance the region’s business climate.

It is readily apparent that you have been building a record of successful business management and public service for more than 40 years and will use your skill, knowledge and background to protect this County’s ratepayers. We also agree and further endorse your statement that the retention of our region’s water rights is key to keeping rates affordable, protecting our health, safety, economy, agriculture and economic environment.

Of all the candidates for EID Division 2, we wholeheartedly agree with your goals of bringing civility back to the EID Board and believe these consensus building efforts will only serve to enhance our region’s business climate.

Thank you again for taking the time out of your schedule to meet with our Board of Directors. Please feel free to contact me with any questions whatsoever. We wish you the best of luck in your upcoming campaign.

Very Truly Yours,

Dave Williamson
Director
BACPAC

Thursday at Rotary Club of Cameron Park was a special day where we received 'Go' bags and a plan to get out of our homes safely in case of fire. We learned about Fire Safe Councils from Pat Dwyer's 12 years of experience. He also shared how successful his team has been securing grants to keep our county fire safe. Thank you Pat!

“This partnership with Cal Fire and other key watershed stakeholders will help protect critical water infrastructure and maintain EID’s water quality while also helping to maintain a fire resilient landscape to guard against the potential for catastrophic wildfire that we see far too often,” said Corcoran.

The state has reported that more than 1 million residents face potential exposure to unsafe water, largely in low-income communities without the funding to fix the problems. A 2018 McClatchy investigation similarly found that 360,000 Californians are served by water systems that violate state standards for nitrates, arsenic, uranium and other pollutants.

We have some of the best water and I'll ensure that the infrastructure is maintained and you, the ratepayer continue to receive the best water.

Gov. Jerry Brown and California lawmakers are rebooting an effort to pass a new tax to attack unsafe drinking water in California. The tax would be voluntary, though a separate effort would establish a fee for dairies and fertilizer manufacturers.
