Block #5 in the Sampler Quilt
Practicing Square in a Square with flair. This one added rectangles to the sides to build it out and with each set of rectangles, new corners were added.
24" block with 12" insert block and uneven borders.

My Sampler Quilt based on the Illusions BOM quilt kit. I used fabric from my stash to complete my blocks. The background is cream, but it should be light gray, which is what I chose to use for my quilt.
There are twelve 24-inch blocks with two borders.
The finished size of my quilt should be 84 x 108 inches.

Here is a paper pieced block I made by creating my own pattern based on a block I saw in a sampler quilt I found online.
Not too bad considering I have very little experience paper piecing and I created my own pattern. What do you think?

The Country Charmer quilt top is done!
I started this project in November of 2014 and I am so glad I finally got this top done.
It measures 705. x 92.5 inches.
Quilt top completed on April 9, 2024.
Shhhh, don't tell anyone that I have 20 more blocks cut out that could go into another quilt. That will be our little secret.

After the Mystery Quilt, I swore I would never snowball the corners of rectangles again. However, here I am contemplating making a quilt out of reproduction fabric with the sweet, old-time Blackford's Beauty Quilt Block.
