Day one of backpacking in the Indiana Dunes:

Site 2 has a good location but not great trees for hammocks. We doubled up our straps and have one hammock and one tent so we are still calling it a win.

Dinner was rated a 4.8 by the younger camper who is typically a picky eater. For less than $7, it will be a repeat purchase for sure.

Things to consider:

If you want to hammock camp here with two hammocks, consider site 5. It is the furthest away from parking however.

There are flush toilets, an outdoor shower, and a bottle fill station just up the path to the beach and the water tastes excellent.

Bring your own firewood!

Oh! And no matter the time of year, don’t forget a good hoodie for when the sun goes down.

Morgan on AA1121 on 07.02.23 was absolutely fantastic. She made friendly talk with my 3 year old about baby yoda, we chatted about her pride pin, and swapped song recs. Looking for something to do between leaving Port Canaveral and your flight out of Orlando MCO? Hop over to Disney Springs and do a little shopping or take the Aerophile balloon up for a stunning view of the Disney Parks. Make sure to stop into Sanuk for some of the most comfortable shoes ever. They have an artist on staff who takes custom requests for hand painted designs as well as some available for immediate purchase.

How cool are these Winnie the Pooh themed sidewalk surfers?!

Day 6 recap: last full day on board

Starbucks. Galley tour. Pool time. Lunch at Izumi. Naps. Dinner at 150 Central Park. Ended the evening relaxing on the balcony one last night.

Fun ship fact: 150 is named that because it’s 150 meters from the bow of the ship.

Cruise tip: make sure to visit NextCruise and take advantage of lower deposit rates and deals for your next trip. Once you’re home, just give us a ring and let us know to transfer your cruise to our care so we can take care of the rest.

Wonder where on we have been hanging out when at the pool? Deck 15 by Splashaway Bay has been where we’ve camped out on sea days and just behind that in Pool 1. Amit at the Lime & Coconut has kept us all hydrated and has been outstanding. We are going to miss this ship!

Port Day Three: Roatan, Honduras
Royal Excursion: Gumbalimba Preservation Park

Serani Mackenzie with Gumbalimba Park in Roatan, Honduras was our tour guide for today and 5/5 ⭐️ for sure. On the island they speak both English and Spanish because it was originally under British control. The coconut is plentiful and the island makes all its own coconut oil and coconut milk and July is also prime season for ripe mangos so make sure sample some fresh fruit. There was so much knowledge she shared from home prices, how mail is delivered with no house numbers, and more historical facts.

It’s a short 25 minute bus ride to the park from port and then approximately a 1.5 hour guided tour through the park seeing iguanas, beautiful native plants, an over 200 ft long suspension bridge, stunning macaws, and the friendliest monkeys ever.

After the tour is over you can stay in the park and hike, enjoy the pool, or go back and spend more time with the animals. There are storage lockers, food and beverage, and trinkets for purchase in the park. In our many years of cruising, this was one of my favorite excursions. Don’t forget your sunscreen, bug spray, and lots of water PLUS comfortable, close toed walking shoes.

A1: Meet Mr. Claudio, the best Genie on board . He is friendly, funny, and the kids adore him. We emailed back and forth in the month leading up to our cruise with preferences, must see shows, etc and he has gone above and beyond making sure this week is filled with adventure and excitement.

Things to consider when booking a Star Class Suite: all gratuities, port fees, drink package, laundry services, and specialty dining are included. Certain activities are also available during a scheduled private time slot on the FloRider, Bridge Tour, etc and are included with your Star Class room.
